If we get 3 quality players, who and what position do you want?

And why?

Target : 75 million net spend including the 14 odd for Aqui (hopefully)

Well, we've needed a new CB and a new CM for a long time. So I'll target two players who'd fill those positions long term, and ensure that the side has a rock-solid core for the next 5-6 years. The third player would be a top drawer young winger.

So, it'd be:

M'vila
Subotic
Hazard/Costa/Neymar

Cahill - Good commanding CB who will make us better defensively.
Ashley Young - Quick and skillful and with Suarez would give us some width aswell as an amazing attacking line-up alongside Carroll.
Coentrao - Johnson but left back version. can defend and attack and and is good at both.

all these players are for positions we need and are realistic targets for us and would cost less than 75mil which could be used to get a midfielder in aswell.

hard to drop kuyt as he is a superstar but this line up gives us more speed and I believe with this we could win the title

Just out of interest , how many of you have actually properly seen some of these players play ? The M'Vila's , the Hazards , the Matuidi's , the subotic's . I don't mean on youtube or just once in an International ,I mean properly seen them play 90mins a few times this season ? Even Neymar , who has seen him play a full game apart from that recent one against Scotland ?

Mostly it seems people just pick the lastest fashionable name for the position they think we need without actually knowing much about the player . Or they base judgement on some manager game .

Seeing them play is irrelevant. For example I doubt Mancini had ever seen Dzeko play before paying 30m for him.

Seriously though, reading the right reports and listening to right people often gives enough information to add players on wishlists like these. I've seen the players I listed play at least a couple of full matches and liked what I've seen but they are also rated by people who know their stuff.

I reckon we should be getting on some of these Belgians anyway. The last decade has seen Arsenals success coincide with the french national teams success as has Barcelonas with the spanish national team (we won a few cups ourselves with some of the spanish boys). Not saying this is the case for every club but with the beligians tipped to have an extremely strong squad heading into the 2014 world cup we could do worse. Hazard first please!!

Left back - I'd take Clichy. Unpopular I know, but I think he is a good player that would benefit from playing with better centre backs.
Defensive midfielder - Schweinsteiger
Versatile winger - Mata

If I was allowed to sign a 4th player: Cahill.

A lot of players are being over quoted IMO. Leaving aside the fee we paid for Carroll which was influenced by the Torres fee, even in an over inflated January transfer window we managed to get Suarez for a lot less than anyone would have believed he was worth. A lot of these players are over valued in the media and haven't done much on the big stage.

I call it the 'Steve Bruce, Jordan Henderson is now worth 25 million because he has an england cap madness theory'.

I'm hoping that should we get any of the big names then Comolli will earn his pay in the bargaining stages.
