Trent, Salah and VVD

Lets close this thread. Trent has left the club, I can't say I am sad, as I said many times before, the way Trent plays sometimes he could qualify for the Special Olympics

The extent of his or his people's miscalculation is starting to set in. He actually thought he was going to get celebrated.

‘His people’ is like his brother and mother right? His mates are probably hangers on as well. Really doesn’t take a genius to figure out what would have happened, and him doing that video was also a massive own goal (LFC probably knew this).

Maybe obvious, but would you have been OK with him leaving if he, before Klopp left, expressed that he in the future would like to experience how it is playing in another league and also agreed on a 2 year contract with a £60 mill get-out clause?

I wouldn't be over the moon about it, but I'd definitely be thankful for his honesty and wish him well, except when he plays us.

I’m not arsed about the money. I care about him saying he wanted to lead this club to glory. Instead he took an easy option. Turned his back on his own people. Then gave us shit performance after shit performance like he’d already checked out.

The rat fuck.

Yeah, I will never forget that Man U performance.

i’m over trent really, personally i wouldn’t have booed but he opened himself up to whatever came with his silence, stupid hand gesture and shit performances.

when he was linked to madrid ages ago i posted on here that i kind of hope that it happens so he gets found out. that’s where im at now, just interested to see if that prediction comes true.

they didn’t have mbappe at the time and i think we were trying to shoehorn him into midfield, so maybe he thrives on launching balls to their rapid forwards but he’s not going to improve defensively and he’s never making their midfield.

i will probably vomit though if i have to witness a trent and jude goal celebration involving a choreographed hand shake routine.

Of course. I suppose the issue is that Real Madrid have been in his ear the whole time, telling him exactly what to do. In the end, everything that’s happened has suited them both. Trent ultimately put himself and Real ahead of his boyhood club, and he’s turned in some lazy performances – one of them downright unforgivable.

That said, it’s all a bit overblown. The club have moved on quickly, and so will he. Modern sport is all about keeping fans constantly engaged between matches and tournaments, and I honestly think a lot of people are more into the drama than the sport itself.

I understand why he wanted the move. The way you described it would’ve been the right way to go about things, but maybe that option was never on the table. In the end, he decided burning a few bridges was worth it for his career. Fair enough. We’ve idolised and replaced better players than Trent, so we can’t let this sour what’s been a brilliant season – and he’s been a part of it. But if he genuinely thought he’d be getting a warm send-off from an adoring crowd, then it's a further sign his ego’s absolutely gone through the roof and he'll fit in right at home with the gang of cunts in Madrid.

transfer windows kicked this all off, probably inevitable with social media but it does feel like a lot of transfer fans exist

Shutting this one down now... Not going to let more Trent sniping spoil the trophy-lift week in here.

Bottom line: The two important ones stayed, the one who thinks he's the next James Bond fucked off - Stevie Wonder could have seen that coming. On to more important discussions...

That said, Squiggles with quite a few truth bombs a couple of posts above:

  • 'Trent ultimately put himself and Real ahead of his boyhood club, and he’s turned in some lazy performances – several of them downright unforgivable.'
  • 'We’ve idolised and replaced better players than Trent, so we can’t let this sour what’s been a brilliant season – and he’s been a part of it.'

And the best line of them all, perfectly describing the modern fan, and many in here, I think...

  • 'and I honestly think a lot of people are more into the drama than the sport itself.'

Bravo, sir.
