Voulez-vous Kerkez avec moi ce soir ?

Quote:

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign Milos Kerkez in a deal worth around £40million ($54m).

A medical is expected to take place next week ahead of the left-back signing a five-year contract at Anfield, with the deal now moving to the paperwork stage following club-to-club agreement

If we're going on last season's performances then I'd say LB is the area we've improved the most in the squad.

Unless Harvey gets sold later down the line, Szobo takes his spot on the bench and Wirtz comes in that 10 role....but the more I think of it, the more I see Wirtz playing as the #9.....he fits that multifunctional forward that Arne has been looking for, & I can't really see Arne manoeuvring away from that adored midfield 3.

It’s not my money but good price. In fact also think Wirtz is a good prics for what we need and wanted considering he was our no 1 target.

This will be an excellent transfer. He will likely probably have the best first year of all of our signings and be the most transformational, at least in the short term. Attacking fullbacks are so undervalued and we've took advantage.

The pressure of playing at Anfield to win stuff makes this fee a huge risk for a player used to coasting along with no expectations. I mean, 40m for a left back that’s just used to playing for a bit of fun every week…the boy knows nothing about pressure…very worried…

Is he as good as everyone says? I have no idea.

If he is, Frimpong, Wirtz and Kerkez + a replacement for Nunez (expected) is some window. badger coming back would be a nice add to Support in the middle too.

No expectations is a bit harsh given this is a club that were in league 1 not long ago and had to scratch and claw their way into being a top 10 PL side.......pressure? Doesn't that just come with the territory, which can also be viewed 1 of 2 ways. The circumstances are no different to when we signed Robbo from Hull nor Sadio/Virg from Soton.

If he's putting in beastly performances like the one against City "for a bit of fun", imagine what he could be like when there's more on the line.

I think we’ll see Wirtz & Szob form a great pairing in attack. Szob was often the point of our press last season and i can see that continuing next.
