Basically we’re playing without a LW. 2 up top, Firmino at #10, Elliott in his usual role, giant hole on the left. We are getting murdered down both flanks as a result.
Probably this, but it's something we've never played before, and looks like the players don't know what the fuck they're supposed to be doing. Elliott is drifting too wide, Henderson has always been terrible at LCM and Firmino is dropping almost to CM.
This is actually absurd. We seem to be unable to string together any of our basic patterns of play.
A simple tweak is to go back to the 4-2-2-2 with Firmino at left midfield. It's not his natural position, but Firmino is tactically our most malleable attacker and his workrate is always superb. He'd have no difficulty doing a job there.
