They'll lose baines in Jan or in the summer ... and probably Barkley within 1-2 years - he's a great talent that lad.

They're a really good team - I just don't know (as with us) if they can sustain this kind of form/luck etc for 38 games ...

Good weekend for us overall.

arsenal play city and chelsea next. we could have a chance to go clear at the top when we come to play those two after that.

Everton were unbeaten and took 9 points from Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham

Newcastle also stay unbeaten in matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man Utd, picking up 10 points.

Cause for optimism ahead of our clashes with Tottenham, Chelsea and Man City?

Just realized that Arsenal travel to Manchester next week to take on City, and then host Chelsea. I'm expecting the Gunners to drop points in both encounters.

They're not missing baines at all. Olveido has been playing well. Martinez has made an instant impact at everton. Everton are a real threat.

I expect us to drop points with the same fixtures too over Christmas.. Everton are looking dangerous.. what is their fixture list like over the Christmas period ?

We have a tough 4 game streak ourselves though. Could do with beating Spurs next weekend really.

Like Wenger, he was given a very solid backline & goalie and has only needed to tinker the front 6 in order to make them more competitive than they were beforehand.

That being said, they'll lose 2 of their creative forces (Lukaku and Deulfeu) and are remarkably think at creative, attacking talent after Barkley (Pinnear and Osman).

They're basically like us, minus the loans!

No idea but it's possible they could go top if they get wins. Which is MENTAL & horrible in equal measure.

Pretty much what I was thinking.... they are a difficult team to beat... but they draw too many games which in the end will be their downfall... (fingers crossed)

Credit where it's due. The Bitters were excellent, especially 1st half, thoroughly deserved a point. They have a run of games to envy in December and on that form will be top 4 going into the New Year. Can we keep up?

That's it then, we simply have to get a good number of points over the christmas period, we cant have the bitters above us. We just cant.

9 points minimum for them with that lot...

Fulham have played two very solid games on the trot (robbed of a draw against Spurs, and beating Villa today). Sunderland have been equally tough (robbed of a peno against Spurs yesterday, and played Chelsea bloody tough). Teams that are desperate to get out of the relegation areas are going to give Everton a tough time imo. They'll get 6 points.

Nah 8-9 points... they are excellent at home... I expect them to at least get 7 points from their 3 home games..

They're a very good team this year - but I can see them struggling ... It's new territory for Everton and Martinez. I'm hoping they start to feel the pressure of actually being expected to win.

Bear in mind that Everton haven't lost a home game in 12 months like.

They'll get 9 at least I think.

Thats kinda my point... we have to be very wary of them.. they are serious challengers for the top 4..

Hopefully Barry and Lukaku will be recalled in January...
