Post Match West Ham (H) 2-1 Sunday 13th April

Snippet from Jonathan Northcroft article in the Times:

Salah’s retention has consequences for Liverpool’s plans to rebuild their squad. Their financial commitments to him and Virgil van Dijk (close to renewing his contract too) will take up such space on the wage bill that, unless there are several significant sales, talk of Liverpool making five or six summer signings is fanciful.

Ornstein is the man.
It would have been worse for us if Salah left, so that logic doesn’t fly anyway.

So, to clarify, you're ok with potentially risking the long term health of players we truly do need like Macca, Virgil, Grav, Ibou, etc... than rotate the team, with a 13 point lead with 18 points left to play for..? That makes sense to you?

How do you risk their health by playing once a week for the reminder of the season?
That makes no sense.

Once it’s mathematically done we can rotate like crazy for all that I care.

Overplaying players can injure them. That's just fact. Utilising a squad shouldn't be thought of as some bad thing

I'd just like to drop players so they think they're not safe. A lack of competition for places can be the death knell for some clubs

Every single year, every single player should be worried which top class cunt we're buying for their position.

Even if we only buy 1-2 top players per season, no one should feel safe.

Who? Other than Gravy
It would be nice if our 2 33 year olds (mo and virg, both looking a lot worse than earlier in the year) weren't playing every minute available. It would be nice if Macca got a bit more rotation.

Injuries can just happen, and ideally we should be utilising this time to ease down minutes for a few players.

Some are trying to be pragmatic and thinking about next year. Some are putting all their chips on fsg sorting us out in the summer.

I'd rather not burn out some players when we don't know if they're going to have backups

The players look fucking exhausted. Rest some. I don't care if we're playing once a week or once a month. Some of those players are fucked.

You're smarter than you're playing here, H... C'mon, mate.

And you’re not this daft. C’mon mate.

If we were playing twice a week for the rest of the season, sure.
No need to rotate now.

Gravy has played a lot so he should be on his holidays as soon as the league is won.

But why not now? Why not a cheeky week off when we've got endo who can play there.

He’s the most fit player in football I reckon
That means he's immune to injuries? He's done phenomenally well to avoid them to be fair. But why tempt fate? What is to be gained by playing him for 89 minutes when I'm repeatedly told we've won the league?

What is to be lost by giving chiesa or Elliott minutes?

FFS he wasn't rotating when we were playing twice a week either.
That's why they look so fucking knackered now.

There is no risk playing once a week.
He can get injured in light training so the idea of resting someone to not tempt fate is not valid imho..

He appaz got the summer off from the Egypt national team as well.
