Post Match West Ham (H) 2-1 Sunday 13th April

There is no risk playing once a week.
He can get injured in light training so the idea of resting someone to not tempt fate is not valid imho..

He appaz got the summer off from the Egypt national team as well.

His international side can give him the summer off, but our manager can't give him 1 week on the bench? Or even half a game on the bench?

And you’re not this daft. C’mon mate.

If we were playing twice a week for the rest of the season, sure.
No need to rotate now.

Gravy has played a lot so he should be on his holidays as soon as the league is won.
You are aware that fatigued bodies are more prone to injuries than rested ones, yes? That you're more likely to do a hamstring if you're knackered, than if you're not... I mean, that's not my opinion, that's medical science. You can't dispute it, it's fact.

Given that, are you really telling me that you don't see an exhausted first team out there, for the past month or more? Whilst the bench is rarely used at all, never mind to it's fullest potential... Seriously?

There's no point. As I said earlier, a title covers a lot of cracks.

Hopefully the management is more aware that they're there than the fans.

I have my beliefs over squad management, others have theirs.

You'd also increase their mileage considering their age. Less wear and tear means less of a chance of winding up like Owen and Rooney. Being finished by 30.

I'd just like to drop players so they think they're not safe. A lack of competition for places can be the death knell for some clubs
This is obviously common sense. No prizes for guessing who disagrees and is probably still hanging onto the "best side in Europe" accolades from earlier in the season.

Yes, if you play without the recommended 72 hours rest. We play once a week. It’s no problem.
Fatigue isn’t an issue NOW.

That’s a very uneducated guess at this point.
Gravy looked fatigued but is back to his old self now after a lot of rest.
They can easily play once a week before the holidays.

Not Mo.

Robbo shouldn’t be starting. We currently have 2 poor alternatives. New first team left back is getting signed.

Mo has played something like all but 20 minutes of the league season so far. If it's not a record for him, it can't be far off and the point stands.

I may not seem it, but I'm very happy with the 3 points, especially after they scored

I may not seem it but I fucking love that we're going to win the league

I also don't see the point on coming on a football forum and sucking our own dicks until we lift the trophy. There's issues in this squad and I have no qualms in talking about them now. If others don't, then cool. Don't.
You're right, you definitely don't seem to be very happy. We talk about other teams fans and some parts of the media devaluing the league win this year but it seems like some on here are hellbent on doing the same thing.

Snippet from Jonathan Northcroft article in the Times:

Salah’s retention has consequences for Liverpool’s plans to rebuild their squad. Their financial commitments to him and Virgil van Dijk (close to renewing his contract too) will take up such space on the wage bill that, unless there are several significant sales, talk of Liverpool making five or six summer signings is fanciful.
This is just an excuse not to spend of that is the case. I thought renewal was for a little less than his current salary. Are we really accepting resigning two players for similar salary is the reason we may not invest as we need? I

How am I devaluing the league? We deserve to win it and I've said that.

I'm criticising standards slipping when we've not won it yet.

Is it heresy? Are we worried I'm going to scare away the league by highlighting problems I'm having?

To clarify and not going around in circles with the same arguments.

Should Slot have rotated more this season? Yes, absolutely.

Will we address that this summer and build a squad with the player profiles he needs?
Yes.

That’s one part of the equation.

The other is in terms of the run in.
We should definetly go full strength for the next two games and hopefully get the title over the line. When that’s done THEN we can rotate heavily. That makes the most sense.
Kill it early and don’t let it drag out.

There is little to no risk in terms of sport science to play 180 more minutes for these players during the next 2 weeks.
Minutes can be managed if the game is won early, obviously.
Overplaying, fatigue or injuries due to overload aren’t an issue with the amount of rest they’re getting in between games.

Gravy, as an example, has played 4 games during the last month. Plenty of rest.
There is no issue with overplaying or fatigue.

2 more wins. Let’s do this.
The upcoming summer transfer window is massive. Really looking forward to it.

Yep, not sure I buy the reason Gravy being ineffective has been due to fatigue. He has just been shite for the last 7 weeks. Not sure if it's a due to lack of discpline or not been on it but has continually misplaced passes as well as not been anywhere near effective in breaking up play and very inconsistent like his 1st season. He needs to get back on it, it's obvious we need someone like him and there is definitiely another place for that type of CM in the squad.

Feels like that is a big part of it. Gravvy knows he will start every single game regardless when available, Endo is not good enough for most of the games so it's a given. Same with Szbo, who has got worse if that was possible.

Seriously? He was excellent today. He was overloaded 2nd half because they exposed the gap between our centre midfield until Endo plugged it but Ryan was great.

Do you think so? He was frustrating the hell out of me today, there was a bit where he misplaced pass which led to them being having a shot on goal inside the 18yrd box and maybe I was focussed too much on him after that. Maybe I was getting annoyed with all our mids apart from Macca but thought he could be doing lot better and really slowed down in the 2nd half.

What is wrong with this forum? Came on here ecstatic over the win that takes us to the brink of the title and it's a bunch of miserable fuckers complaining.

The forum title is sixcrazyminutes, were the OP's going mental about how shit we were then? Because we were for 114 minutes. Didn't stop me from going apeshit in Istanbul.

Enjoy the moment, may not come again and we have waited so long for this.

What an unbelievable season this has been, how many would have predicted this in August. I'm on seventh heaven, Arne and the players deserve all the credit for the consistency, mental resilience and quality that comes with Champions.

Next season is next season. The countdown to our 20th title and the first one we will actually be able to celebrate has started, get on the ride this is as good as it gets and I'm fucking loving it

Yes, I was absolutely fucking miserable until the first goal went in in Istanbul.

And beyond jubilant after we won.

It takes a bitter piss to put the spice in victory.

This is the post match thread. After Istanbul were you celebrating the incredible win or moaning about how crap we were. I know what I was doing then

You know you're the ONLY person on this website who thinks that, right..? Every single other bugger here, whether optimistic or pessimistic about things acknowledges that we're fucking knackered. The fact that we've only had one game a week for the past three weeks means nothing, after the season we've had until this point.

We just won. Conceded an own goal in the 86th or whatever minute then came back and won the game like champions do. We are 13 points clear. Who gives a fuck if you think they are knackered. We are monstering the League. Every other team in the League would kill to be this knackered

Respectfully, this is an ongoing discussion that you've joined about 35 seconds ago, mate, and I'm pretty sure that you don't know the context in which I'm going down this road with my learned colleague. HE gives a fuck, hence the back and forth, and HE is who I'm replying to. All ok with you..?
