Winter transfers

I'm on board with these signings when there's a new manager. If the plan is "we're getting a new manager", then get a new manager, then worry about signing the kids.

You can't pick and choose when X or Y are available though. In regards to the kids a whole bunch of clubs were after them. It would have been inevitable that we'd moan about not getting a player when he's tearing it up for Inter 2 years from now. Inter was the club that pushed the hardest for the Austrian kid btw.

Managers come and go. The club, youth system, academy, squad building and future planning will continue.

But if our long term plan isn't to stick with this manager, then why persist?

I don't believe this manager has any intention of developing players. He has a system and three players need to be good enough to play it

As I say I'm more than happy to go for youth, but we have more pressing needs. One of the reasons we missed out on Guehi was leaving it to the last minute.

The youth players will be part of our future no matter who the manager is though. Thats the key here.

Guehi didnt happen because of Parish and Glasner imho. We might have left it late but its quite obvious that Parish is horrendous to deal with and the fee might have been much much higher earlier in the summer. They approved the sale and went back on their word.

Listen, I don't think he was ever given a proper shot to show if he is a good player or shite.
You need players like him though - attitude, commitment and great in the dressing room.
Losing him for peanuts while we lack attacking options (as we cannot play our youngsters) seems a bit stupid.
Meh.
I do like his attitude and I know he WAS a very good player but from what I’ve seen he plays like a player who has had one injury too many.

I wouldn't mind keeping him, he's an ok player and seems to be good for the squad. But if he has to go to stop people vastly overrating him and calling for him to start games, I'll be happy enough to see him leave.
