Not with the current manager at helm, of course. The main reason I'm still interested is because, hopefully, they can at least "do a van den Berg" and bring in $$. 😅I genuinely, honest and true, do not care about players who will probably never play a minute for us

Is it?Squad planning and bringing in future starters is a must regardless
Is it?
If i had any kind of faith that we would see any of them consistently start for us, then i'd be all for it. We won't and they won't. Who's the last centre back that we bought for the youth teams who got minutes? Centre backs aren't those players to bring in at 17 and give developmental time to. It's more likely we'll buy them, loan them out and sell thin in 3 years.
Its unexciting and not what we need right now
Yes, it is. You either hit big on a player or he’s sold for more.
Can't bring them in until they turn 18 now (Brexit)But thats not what we need right now!
You believe that this manager will give one of these 17 year olds minutes when he's under this pressure? Especially at centre back!
I agree its a long term planning/profit game, but this isn't what we need to be doing this second. Especially when these players are seemingly scouted from doing well in an international tournament. Get these kids in, absolutely, but get your ordonez, get your guehi, get your wingers.
Youth players are an icing on the cake, not the whole dessert
So its even MORE pointless! Can't bring them in until they turn 18 now (Brexit)

Don't like but agree. Slot's eviscerated our youth. We're moneyballing with youth and not prioritizing senior players. So its even MORE pointless!
But.. but.. he's the 2nd coming 😉David Ornstein reckons we have accepted an offer of €6.5m from Juve for Chiesa, I really hope it’s true because he is shite.

We got him for peanuts in the first place for a reason though. When we signed him that high profile Italian/American journalist said it wouldn't work because his injuries had broken him and he wouldn't cope with the English league. Unfortunately, no matter how enthusiastic he is that looks to have been the case.Listen, I don't think he was ever given a proper shot to show if he is a good player or shite.
You need players like him though - attitude, commitment and great in the dressing room.
Losing him for peanuts while we lack attacking options (as we cannot play our youngsters) seems a bit stupid.
Meh.
I'm sick of hearing how these highly rated youngsters are integral, yet given zero chances to show their worth. 5 minutes isn't enough

I can get back on my don’t sign Italians horse.
I'm on board with these signings when there's a new manager. If the plan is "we're getting a new manager", then get a new manager, then worry about signing the kids. Our new manager will obviously be tasked with bringing through academy players.
I find it insane that we shouldn't be on the look out for talent and bring them through our youth set up.
We have identified two of the biggest CB prospects from the U-17 WC and have managed to sign them. Its great news imho. Potentially either saving or earning us millions in the future.
Ndiaye turns 18 today, so he can move this month and link up with the U-21s. Not pointless.
That's a relief. We don't have the depth to sell anyone for pittanceIts from that Anfield papers account. They just tweet stuff for fun. Its referenced to a David Ornstein from Sweden who likes gambling. Not sure he knows much about Chiesa. 🙂
