Winter transfers

Can we officially call ourselves dickheads for not signing Semenyo yet? Who didn't want him?
I had reservations in the summer, but thought after the way the season had gone we should be trying.
We can't compete with city when it comes to transfers though

I can, reluctantly, understand the hesitation in signing attacking players pending the appointment of a new head coach.

But is there any manager who doesn't play with Centre backs, and wouldn't like a decent one like Guehi? It seems like we are a bit too overconfident in our appeal at times.

Think I would have preferred Cherki and Semenyo to Isak. Gakpo as backup to Ekitike.

Would probably still have had some change to left over to perhaps push through the deal for Guehi.

Diabolical.

If we can't afford him now, why would the summer be any different? We'd still be up against City, and maybe Barca, Bayern and Arsenal as well.

It doesn't benefit him to go now.

Just accept he's not coming here. The only reason anyone gives a shit about this player is because he's English. He's whatever and he's not tall.

Whenever we get this fixated on a player it's clear they aren't coming and that some cunt is going to trot out the whole idea that we don't have a plan b because we only want this player. Then we will get one injury and finish 8th.

That is a little illogical though. Just pay him whatever we'll be paying in the Summer anyway.

The upside for him is he will have a chance at winning something (FAC or CL or at least maybe going deep in the CL for big matches on exotic shores). For us it alleviates the problems associated with CB + RB and would likely ensure CL qualification (for the record I'm pretty certain we'll get it regardless but it will be hugely costly if we don't so why take the chance).

The only difference is the £30m - CL qualification is a far greater loss and we were willing to pay that anyway.
