Insignificance

Bad to the bone

We need at least two, hopefully Three, beasts of Central mids. That is prirority one. Sell Lucas and Allen if needed to Finance it, but we need no bullshit winners in the engine room now. We are painful to watch when put under pressure.....

I'd say we need genuine goalscorers, first and foremost. Halfway through the season and the top scorer only has 6. Pathetic. And stop thrashing about in this Premier-League-proved pool and throwing money on players who are only as good as those we already have.

A Cb, a strong competitive cm, a striker

Groundhog day

Sack the transfer team, get a DOF that knows how to consistently take advantage of lower leagues, like Sevilla's. Tell Rodgers to worry about coaching.

Position wise. ST x 2, AM, CM, CB, RB or LB , GK (Flanno gets the other spot if we have 4 at the back)

We already have Origi. I'd want Firmino as the marquee AM to play with Coutinho. The rest I shouldn't know about because then they would be too expensive. Some of those positions can maybe come from our own setup. Like Rossiter, Sinclair or Wilson making a step up. We need goals though.

* Schneiderlin (as I think we'll move Lucas and/or Allen).
* ST to replace Balotelli (Origi to replace Lambert) - so we have Origi, ST, Studge & Sinclair (or Sterling if he stays).
* CB to replace Lovren (who I think will move on for 8-10 million) - would love us to go after Varane, but everyone says it's not possible so go after some Germany u21 player that Bayern 'loaned' out with a buy back fee ... worked last transfer window.
* Vietto - AM to challenge Coutinho, and push Lallana to an impact sub player. Just don't think he's capable of playing in an up-tempo system (be it because he holds the ball too long, or his fragile build - Ross was right).
* Germany u21 goalkeeper (if it's not Ter Stegen).
* 2-3 u16 players from the lower English leagues.

nailed it.

Firstly we need to decide the formation we want to play. if it's 3 at the back then we need two good wing backs so we don't end up with Hendo, Sterling or Markovic as the roundest of pegs in the squarest of holes. If not, then we're probably ok for full backs but need attention elsewhere. The Head of the Academy should be on the transfer committee to advise on youngsters coming through so we don't buy players who block the path of a really promising young player.

We need GK, LB, RB, CB, CM, AM, ST which is basically what we should have done last season when we had the money but we fucked as per usual.

Rodgers did an interview with the Echo about how we'll struggle to attract top talent this summer.

Mirror reporting about a dressing room revolt after saturdays game and Rodgers claiming some of the players didnt give their all for him.

Sounds like a fun summer..

Vietto, Song, and Deepay.

After watching Song boss it for West Ham a transfer of about 8-10 mill would be a steal.

We should just play it cool and get the official Liverpool Facebook page to like their profiles.

Let them bitches come to us.

So some cunt called Adrian Kajumba says Rodgers accused players of not playing for him, but gives no evidence for it other than what exactly?

Last time I watched West Ham Song was terrible.

He's been their best player this year mate.
Could obviously be better players available but it probably depends on our budget.

Illaramendi or Nainggolan would be the preffered choice.

I can't remember the last window where we didn't need a bagload of players. This time round:
Gk
Lb
Rb
Dm
Cm
Am
Striker

So pretty much a new team.

But out can go:
Jones
Johnson
Kolo
Lovren
Lucas
Gerrard
Mario
Lambert
Alberto
Aspaz
Borini

I bet lots of people are feeling really stupid about Joe Allen now, eh?

You're right, Allen and Lucas aren't cutting it longterm, I think both are really good squad players when we're playing well as a team, but when we need a player who can drag us out of the shit, we have no one in the engine room capable of doing that. I don't think that means any of them have to go (Allen possibly does), but we need a player who will control games and dictate the play, we've lost that with the decline of Gerrard and the departure of Alonso. We've got too many passengers and we need to trim the squad and add quality to compound the good players we have.

Personally I think Markovic is getting away with blue murder, he's a horribly disjointed performing, half arsed player.

The "outs" are exactly the same as mine in the other thread about next year except for Lovren who I still think can come good.

The "ins" aren't far away either but in terms of priorities we need a LB, 2 CM & a striker to go straight in with a GK, RB & another striker for the squad.

Skrtel
Sakho
Moreno (just)
Ming
Lucas
Henderson
Sterling
Coutinho
Sturridge
Ibe

That's about the only players you could say should genuinely be here next season, even then the likes of Lucas and Ming are under threat of a first team place.

We could realistically lose:

Jones
Johnson
Gerrard (done)
Lovren
Toure
Manquillo
Enrique
Allen
Sterling
Lambert
Mario
Borini
Aspas

That's another massive over turn of the squad with the issue of going into another season blooding a huge portion of the team.

Just as well we're really good at off-loading shit players promptly and efficiently.

Yup.

I have two lists of players that we keep, the first lot because we want to keep them, the second lot we're stuck with because of the contracts they're on.

The first: Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, Henderson, Skrtel, Sakho, Ibe, Markovic

The second: Moreno, Lovren, Lucas, Lallana, Lambert, Balotelli,

I'm fairly ambivalent with regard to most of the squad, for the right money they can go

i look forward to hansern making every signing out to be 'shrewd' until they play and they are exactly what i said they'd be.

You couldnt be more wrong then, nor have I said every signing is "shrewd".
Its also very easy to be negative about everything. You're bound to get some right.

Lovren has been the worst obviously, but apart from him we've gotten pretty much what was expected.
Loads of young players who are up and down performancewise in their first year.

The funniest part in all this is still Kolo Toure who I got absolutly lamblasted for suggesting could be a great influence in the dressing room and for the younger players and a good free transfer.

Bar that we all get some right and some wrong. Its how it works when you have an opinion not coloured by negative repetitive shite and actually think someone will succeed.

Whatever we do, we should avoid:
- sentimental signings involving LFC fans who happen to be likeable but in reality over 30 and useless;
- anyone who is British and costs over 15m;
- anyone who is over 21 and has more 'potential' than talent;
- egomaniacs who have played for more than 3 clubs but not settled anywhere.
- anyone Italian.
- anyone from the Italian league unless an absolute bargain like Countinho (in other words a non-italian who is under 21).

You mean "lambasted". "Lamblasted" refers to a Welshman drunk out of his mind who thinks the young sheep in the next field is quite attractive.

This "beast of a centre mid" myth has been around for longer than the premier league.

There are none. Well, none at any of the top 4 clubs anyway. Matic maybe, who else is there after that? Here's the top 5 CM pairings (outside of ours) in the league:

Matic & Fabregas.
Coquelin & Cazorla
Herrera & Carrick
Fernando & Toure
Mason & Bentaleb

The most 'beastless' set of midfielders I ever did see.

"No bullshit winners in the engine room". Where are you living, 1973?
