Genk's title is the key word for Milan Jovanovic. Currently in Qatar where he underwent undergo knee surgery, Jovanovic said "Genk deserve the title, but I'm disappointed that Standard did not win."

"I am proud of my former teammates. For me they are heroes. Personally, I will now try to prepare myself for next season. In Qatar, my left meniscus was cleaned. The operation was successful and now I can look for a good club." According to Portuguese press and Give Me Football.com, Liverpool have agreed to put out a large splash of cash early on in the summer window after having reached a believed £25 million fee with Benfica for the purchase of left-back Fabio Coentrao.

Coentrao is perhaps the most sought after left sided defender in the world at the current moment. There was supposedly a fee agreed with Real Madrid just two-days ago, but now it seems that the Reds might have pulled off a coup of the summer if the rumors are indeed true.

The Portuguese defender was highly linked with the Reds in the January window, and if he is indeed the first signing of the summer, Liverpool are certainly sending the message that they are going to be pushing for the top of the table as soon as possible.

I don't think many on here wanted to sanction or risk 17million (I think that was the figure being branded at the time) of our budget at time on a 16/17 year old playing in Argentina.

I feel a bit sorry for the guy - not a galactico admittedly, but his attitude was never in doubt and I don't think he got a fair crack of the whip with us, almost always getting picked wide left when he had always been mainly a striker (and we weren't exactly spoilt for choice up front). Hope he can get his career back on track somewhere.

Cant believe im saying this but i actually wouldnt mind if we sign downing, i think we will be a good signing for us if we get him
 
If we sign Downing and others better than Downing I'll be OK with that, as I think he's decent enough to be part of the squad. My worry would be (a) the inflated fee we're likely to get charged for him and (b) the effect that might have on the transfer kitty overall.
 
According to Ballbag Mata is available for 18-20 mill and there are rumours that he's interested in a move here. So hopefully he'll be our LW.

I am not sure who you have been watching this season but its not Silva. He has been one of the best and most consistent players in the league this season.
 
Welcome to 6CM Saul. Disagree slightly as he did have a few slow months to start with but that's to be expected but yeh he was fairly consistent after Christmas.
