Soooooooo... The Ryder Cup

I guess you had a ball if you watched it as planned.
Poulter player of the match.
Amazing performance

Amazing. Got the pub at 5.30 and didn't move till 12.30. Unbelievable day, drama, emotion, everything.

Who said golf was boring. Fuck you.

One if the most memorable days of my life. Not quite Istanbul but its up there.

Fuck you America!

That was one of the greatest sporting achievements I’ve ever seen in my life.

No hyperbole, no exaggeration, no joke – genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever been fortunate to witness. Stick that right up your fucking hole you “U,S,A” and “GET IN THE WATER” chanting cunts.

If there’s a better display of golf than that of Poulter’s from 13-18 on Saturday night then I’ve never seen it. That was better than clutch, that was taking it on your own back to drag the fucking side from oblivion right back into it. Hole after hole he drained putts from everywhere on fucking glasstop greens. As immense a putting performance as one could imagine.

Amazing. It seems harsh to be singling out one man after a day that saw unbelievable performances from guys out of nowhere – Rose’s putt on the 17th, Garcia beating Furyk from zero, Molinari beating the great Woods, Donald dryhumping that fuckstick Bubba Watson, but for me that Ryder Cup was won on Saturday night.

I don’t think I’ve seen a better golfing performance given the circumstances than him clawing that back by himself.

Amazing.

Even turning it round yesterday Ry, he was 2 down after 4 and got that back. You thought he was running on empty at one point but he just found more.

What a man.

Did you have him as top European point scorer too?

I'm going to have to revise my opinion of Poulter. I always thought he was a nob, from years back when he refused to sign my son's program at the practice day at The Open. I'll have to erase that memory in favour of this performance, which was up there at the summit of all the other sporting madness that has happened this year.

Well he's still a nob for that. It may have been a temporary lapse to nobheadedness

I out-nobheadeded him soon after when introduced to him and Rose in some club in town. I pretended not to know who he was, while also pretending to think Rose was ace.

Stood there shaking my head and asking 'Ian who?...' and really pretending to think. Yeah, proper out-nobheaded.

Hehe. Revenge is a dish best eaten cold.

Yes - the USA players were very sporting, especially Phil Mickelsen whose reactions were a lesson in sportsmanship. Tiger Woods was also classy at the end - though the bookies may not share that opinion. It was an excellent contest and the Europeans did incredibly well to prevail in the singles where they tradionally struggle. As good a Ryder Cup as any, this one.

I don't share in this notion that Woods was being sporting. At all.

I think he was just fucked off to the high heavens and couldn't wait to get out of there so he just gave the putt to him so it could be over quicker, and on his terms.

Woods has never been sporting in his life. He's a self-serving cunt, and this was just more of the same.

Yeah, I thought it was extremely odd that Woods let Kaymer have that putt. I can't say I have much time for him either, but he definitely never struck me as the sporting type.

It's small, but it was inevitable:
