Bye bye Kenny (part 2)!!!!!

We almost went into Administration 2 seasons ago yet people are clamouring for top 4.

We spent 100m. We were in touching distance in December. It's been a Catastrophe in the league from January.
I would have been content with 6th this season. But we're nowhere near.

Are people clamouring for a top 4 finish? I think they're just disheartened that we've had one of our worst seasons in decades and our home form has been abysmal. Yes, we were close to administration two seasons ago but we still have a squad that should be beating the likes of West Brom, Norwich etc etc at Anfield.

So, 6th would have been acceptable but 8th with 2 cup finals is not? As bad as this season has been, its potentially our best since 2005. Kenny has a two year contract, he deserves to see it out. He was bought in to stabilise the club in its hour of need. He's succeeded in that and got us into two cup finals. Ironically you mentioned Emery as a candidate to take over from a sacked Kenny. Emery was sacked from Valencia because he couldn't emulate Rafa, who we sacked because he didn't win the League!

Somehow I don't think the 30,000 or so fans making the trip to Wembley tomorrow will be disheartened, at least not BEFORE the match 🙂

I'm disheartened

Worst home record on 60 years. 2 finals which I'm over the moon with..... But I thought the league was our bread and butter

And I don't think we'll get 8th

Ha ha In case you haven't realised the League hasn't been our bread and butter since 1990. 🙂 Newcastle and most other teams, would love to have a season as bad as ours. Does it really matter if we get 5th or 10th? We're progressing, we're in European competition, and could clean up on the domestic cups just a year after nearly going bankrupt. A similar thing happened to Leeds, they would love to be where we are.

And yet we're still in an FA cup final tomorrow. Tomorrow ! And we're still debating the future of Kenny Dalglish rather than debating whether we could actually add another cup to the trophy room. Or even, God forbid, issuing a few words of encouragement and support to add a little positive karma. Cheer the fuck up you morose cunts if only for the next 24 hours.

We love you Liverpool, we do. We love you Liverpool, we do.
We love you Liverpool, we do.
Ohhhhh Liverpool we love you.

We love over analysing the fuck out of everything, criticising every thing we can and telling each other how right we are moreso though.

Come on Reds !!!!! See, its simple. Forget about the past and the future for one day. All that matters is the now.

I'm excited, thrilled, nervous, terrified... Everything... Over tomorrow. I live that kenny gas brought some success with him.

I'm not overawed with our abject displays however. I have massive questions over kennys suitability based on tactics, transfers, man management skills. The things we need in a manager.

The league may not have been our bread and butter since 90,but why should we think dwindling league performances are good? I don't care if we batter a team, if we don't get the 3 points then why turn up? There is never a plan B. Like for like subs, bizarre starting line ups, dropping form players, persisting with put of form ones.

Kenny is a great cup manager and I'd love to keep him here if my aspirations were just domestic cups.

You can't go for the big boys when you're 8th. We're 3 points off Everton aren't we? 40(?) off the mancs.

I'm thrilled kenny is stocking the trophy cabinet, and yes, a victory tomorrow will make us England's most decorated club.... But all this is for nowt if we simply can't beat Fulham, West Brom, Norwich, Swansea etc at home.

Kenny is a cup manager.

Lol. Seriously what more can be said, on both sides, that's not already been said.

Apart from come on Reds and good luck to Kenny and the boys for tomorrow.

Kenny is a cup manager.

Behave. Kenny is the only living manager to have won leagues with two different teams, one of which he took from the Championship. He's also the only man ever to have won it as player/manager. Man management is Kenny's strength. Tactically he's flexible and astute he can go to 3 at the back 442, and a lone striker upfront. Name me another manager who does that. Klopp? Emery? We've outplayed most of the teams we've faced. Nowt wrong with our tactics, its our finishing that has let us down. We're Liverpool we dont need to be in the champions League to attract the players we want.

I can't possibly agree that this is for nothing because we can't beat West Brom et al at home. I'm not even sure you do you just want to win the argument. We were in 3 tournaments at the start of the season and yet we could win 2 of them. We may not have beaten the teams you listed at home but we've beaten one of the Champions League finalists TWICE on their own patch, and we've beaten whoever win the league, so we're not all bad. As for bizarre starting line ups etc, this is what people said about Rafa. 🙂 You can't judge a manager on what YOU would do, with all due respect, Kenny's forgotten more about picking teams than you will ever know. Managers are judged on trophies, Kenny can win two a year and half after taking over when we were in the relegation spots.

Given that the league has been won only by either Man Utd and Chelsea over the last few years, I reckon 18 other teams would love to have a 'cup manager'.

Good post Sunny.

I think there are some valid points on both sides though, but I agree.

The season is finished in 9 days. Then we can have a season review.

I think there are valid points on both sides too. What you want to happen with KD depends on your faith in the man. I'm just pissed off about debating it when we should be wetting our britches in excitement for tomorrow. It feels like the occasion is irrelevant to some. I'm shitting myself with excitement for tomorrow. Could be a great day

KopKing... Cool.

I'm not saying anything to win an argument. Truth be told I don't give 2 bits if I was the only one thinking it, I'd still say it.
People differ, and I've said my piece consistently since October, much to the chagrin of the big man. There isn't a right answer to this, it's about faith.

A lot if people are saying that kenny will step down when he's done all he can. If he steps down this summer, will that faith have been misplaced.

I want us to do well, kenny at the helm or not.

Not saying anything more on it.

As for the final... I honestly don't know how it'll go. Either way, my life won't be worth living tomorrow night.
