Paul Konchesky has a good left foot too.

Anyway, I still can't believe Blackpool didn't take the 11M on offer. When is Charlie Adam ever going to be worth that again?
If he keeps them in the prem he's worth three times that to them.

So if he goes in the summer for £5m his worth will be in the excess of £35m rather than £11 + relegation.
Yes, that's objective.

They'd have stayed in the PL even if they'd sold him.
I don't know how you're so sure of that.

I've seen far more of Blackpool than id like to have this season he's ticked their team over, scored crucial goals, made crucial goals.

He's easily won them 12 points. and will win them a few more between now and the end of the season. His freekick on saturday got them a point.

It's not so much objective, more obvious.

Ryan, knowing fuck all squared about Adam, decided several months ago that he was 'mediocre'. He's not going to let a thing like the lad demonstratively proving week-in-week-out that he's a class act, get in the way of his superlative judgement.

The comparison with Konchesky is risible.

what?! what do you mean, 'they'd have stayed in the PL even if...' - they're still in the middle of a relegation fight even now! 1 point above the drop zone. they're in all kinds of trouble, and would almost certainly be worse off (ie actually in the bottom 3) if they'd sold him.

they won't get £11m for him in the summer (was that even offered in jan, btw?) but they'll certainly get £7-8m, and if they stay up then they'll earn another £40m or so.

so, in effect, they've gambled let's say, £3.5m of transfer income in the hope of gaining another season in the PL and £40m: that to me looks so incredibly obviously the correct decision that i'm frankly amazed anyone would think differently. they'd have been fucking nuts to sell their best player on the last day of the jan window just to gain an extra £3m to supplement their parachute payments.

Adam to Liverpool still on the cards

Liverpool face a battle with Tottenham to secure the signature of Charlie Adam this summer, but reports today suggest a proposed move for the Scottish midfielder is most certainly still on the cards.

Adam was denied a move to Anfield in January when Blackpool boss Ian Holloway deemed him pivotal to the club’s survival in the Premier League.

The Tangerines captain scored twice more at the weekend to keep Blackpool’s chances of staying up alive, but an exit from Bloomfield Road seems almost certain for the summer.

Adam could be tempted by a move to a club playing European football, with Liverpool now just four points behind fifth place Spurs – a place which would land the Reds a Europa League spot for next season.

With Blackpool’s low financials, Adam could leave on a cheaper deal than originally propose in January, when Blackpool reportedly turned down a £9million offer for the 25-year-old.

Kenny Dalglish was at Ewood Park on Saturday to see Adam produce another fine performance that has earned him lots of praise and attention this

season
.

If we sign Adam we will be a good threat from setpieces, what with Suarez, Ming's delivery and Adam.. Then we have Gerrard and Kuyt for penalties!

Bang on.

adam and suarez are both first-class pen takers too! we could take the red star belgrade approach to cup competitions, what with reina in goal and all.

Definitely. I don't know why people have a problem with him, question his fitness yeah, but his ability is obvious.

Probably because he looks like a regular bloke and he's Scottish. Who gives? I'd rather see us do that than go for another player who we might get two or three decent seasons out of before they decide that Liverpool is a bit below them.

Do we see him as a first team starter of squad player to replace Lucas with Poulsen going also?

Leaving a midfield of
Stevie, Ming, Adam, Jonjo, Spearing?

Odd - do people really care he's Scottish? Like our manager, or many of the players that made Liverpool great throughotu the 1900s.

I would argue we do, we have often played 2 DM type players in games and allowed a front four to go forward.
We would be short a DM player in the above line up..though I have high hopes for Jonjo

Kenny Dalglish is ready to outbid Tottenham for Blackpool skipper Charlie Adam this summer.

The Liverpool boss visited Blackburn on Saturday to see the midfielder score twice in a 2-2 draw. Dalglish still feels Adam is the best long-term solution for the Reds’ lack of creativity – despite having a £9million offer rejected on transfer deadline day.

Spurs’ chief scout Ian Bloomfield was also at Ewood Park to watch Adam return from a two-game ban.

Actually I don't think it's Bang On at all - because Blackpool wanted to sell him, first to us and then to Spurs at the last minute, that was unable to be concluded in time, so Blackpool didn't decide to gamble anything, they were forced into keeping him in the end. If he keeps them up it will be a great big fucking slice of luck and absolutely nothing to do with judgement or gambling !

Much better cover for a whole season.

And to boot, I don't think he's as good as you and others are making out. I've watched enough of him, don't worry. He's a shining light in that team, but he's not good enough for a top club.

When you first made the call that he was 'mediocre', as that's your word. part of your rationale was that he was 'too old'. You had no idea he was 24 (he's 25 now), suggesting more than a soupcon of ignorance on your part, wouldn't you say?

You're entitled to your opinion, but when the first signs of you forming an opinion was based on ignorance I can't help think you're just sticking obdurately to an ill-formed view. Just my opinion.

Speaking of agendas, you've been oddly protective of Adam from the start.
