Checking the pulse...one last time

How much time are you willing to give Slot?

  • We should have sacked him months/weeks ago

  • Until we're knocked out of every comp and have no chance of making the CL

  • End of the season

  • More time? We're doing just fine!

  • Sack him now

  • Sack him when someone good is available

Having nobody available has saved him this far. Just like when Brendan was a dead man walking. Unless Klopp was coming in, he would’ve kept his job.

It's a tough one for me because I would have sacked him after the Forest game. And I still think that would have been the right call.

However, we're also just gonna persist with him until the end of the season, obviously. So, it's hard for me to get excited and let myself think that in depth about something that I know is not going to happen.

Should've sacked him months ago. Should sack him now. But we won't sack him. So I hope he wins every game from now until the end of the season. But we won't.

So, bleurgh!

My concern regarding availability is that us and United will both be looking in the summer, probably Real Madrid and PSG and possibly City. I’m not sure we’d be getting the cream in that scenario

It’s in Xabi’s hands. If he wants months off he has it. When he is ready, like we waited for Klopp, then we will pull the trigger.

Or it’s Enrique. That’s the summer.

I can’t see Alonso going to the scum or PSG. I also struggle to see him going to City but it’s not a forgone conclusion. We need to tie him up and for when he’s ready.

I was okay with him getting a little more time to turn it around and convert boring draws into wins, but my patience is over. So, not quite any of the options, but still time to go.

I might even consider Gerard as a caretaker, if his best assistants from Rangers could join him.

I could see him going to City but not United. I saw something that said at Leverkusen he had a release clause in his contract that would allow him to talk to Real, Liverpool, Bayern and City if any of them came in for him.

Option E) He should've been sacked when Binomial said he should've been sacked.

We all know what's going to happen, we're going to wait until we're 7-8 points off 4th when it'll have already been too late.

In fact, I think I fucking saw it on this site. I'm losing the plot. Think it was a Twitter quote from someone.

He should've been sacked after the Man Utd game.

Woeful against a shit Chelsea after being woeful in previous games, things were going badly wrong.

A 2 week international break where he fucks off to Dubai for a holiday instead of working hard to sort out the mess.

Comes back & loses to Utd at home with the exact same team & tactics as against Chelsea.

That took the complete piss.

beeeeeeeep…

it’s done if xabi wants to step in right now. the killer for me is salah being away at afcon is a scenario we were hyper aware of, nevermind the fact we’ve spent money to effectively replace him ahead of time, and we really struggled against relegation fodder.

i think we played alright today for the first 60 or whatever but that’s a decent squad available and home to burnley shouldn’t be what it was

If he wasn't sacked a while back, I figure he's with us until the end of the season.

Either he somehow manages to genuinely turn it around (unlikely) or he'll squeak us into the Champions League and we'll say thanks and farewell in favour of someone who's not currently available.

I don't feel the need/have the energy to hate people right now, and if I did I wouldn't waste it on a football coach who is just trying his best. That'd be way down the list. He has changed things, but the team is as mentally fragile as ever, and it's impossible to get behind a team like that, it can't win anything, and it doesn't deserve to either. We should have targets together, but I don't have any faith in that side of things either, or any sense of where they are at because they just get to quietly work and fuck up while someone else eats shit.

If Carrick can have United playing well, and make the Top 5, I don't think they'll sack him. Radcliffe is a tight MF and Carrick will save him a fortune (and they don't have much money so Carrick will be happy to work with that).

glasner and xabi are available, they can’t be any worse
Glasner is a cunt. I wouldn't go near him with a barge pole. Xabi it is. The fact he knows and can elicit the best from Wirtz and FrimP, plus he knows Ekitike's game, is a major plus.

Knows the BL players, knows the PL, knows La Liga's players. Must have his finger in many (transfer) pies too.

Sack him or back him. We're doing neither. We've left him with a squad which is too thin in too many positions, and he's not using the squad well enough and not coaching well enough.

I don’t think Enrique will be on the market.
Xabi is probably key here and hopefully he is interested to step in mid season.
Would be good for him to get an overview of the squad and get them to start adapting to his ideas.
The worst thing is that I don’t think this squad needs many additions to challenge for the league. Just a better leader/manager and a plug a few holes in the squad.

I think Enrique is already City bound.

Should have made the change in Nov if we wanted CL but now we have accepted this current level then wait till end of season. We won’t get anyone to change this unless Klopp accepts a temp role. Don’t fancy Xabi and him knocking us back 3 times in a row would be a new low. Plus get rid of Edwards too, maybe keep Hughes but no idea who good he is.

Test the waters with Enrique in summer and beg Klopp to take over until then.

Otherwise give it to Xabi.

Under no circumstances keep that baldy Dutch arsehole for another two seconds.
