I don't think Driving Tests bear any resemblance to real world driving though. 10-15 definitely too much. Maybe base it on points accumulated? If U21 then 4 points re-do, U25 6 points, U35 9 points.

I think glaring errors can be see though e.g. if 70 year olds who have really slow reactions were to do a test, they'd fail

I hate cars. They ruin everything. They make ugly cities that don't work for people. They make sprawling suburbs that aren't sustainable. They are noisy expensive requirements, and the idea of tying my identity to one is fucking strange. They are noisy polluters and take up infrastructure money and space, more and more as they get more and more bloated in size.

Oh, and they kill pedestrians and kids especially.

My bike, I love.

Maybe a trip to a police station for eyesight and reaction tests instead of a licence re-do (which really isn't fair considering the state of many youngsters' driving)?

A necessary evil.

Especially in places with limited to zero public transport. We barely use our car - less than 10k kms in 3 years ownership ! Though we rent cars a lot when back in Europe / travel in Asia.

Personally we are using trains more and more (because they are fantastic in China) even in the UK where the standard is many times lower, we use buses and the underground in London 99% of the time (Uber, Freenow, Bolt for the other 1%) and when going North I take the train to Manchester Airport and hire a car from there, or to Newcastle and ditto when visiting friends, it's much more relaxing, costs about the same and is more environmentally friendly.

Let's face it blokes under 30 are about 99% of the problem. No matter how technically shit a lot of women are at driving they're not doing 80 down the A6. If you just forced all of them to have those black box things you'd probably solve the issue.

I love cars but I'm with you on the effect on towns and cities. It's so depressing how many British towns are ruined by ring roads where you just get this constant drone of traffic and all the associated pollution and danger and ugliness. For no apparent reason - most towns can be walked across in 10 minutes. I'd love to make congestion charges nationwide.

Yeah I think this makes sense. No relation to this incident, but I also think drivers should re-do their test every 10/15 years. Far too many people on the road who are simply unfit to drive.

Most road users are wankers. Loads don’t even use indicators on roundabouts. Middle lane driving pricks annoy the shit out of me.

I’d happily have 3 strikes and you’re out when caught doing these things. Retake your test.

I don't believe in the latest safety ratings for cars.

They give too much weightage for electronic aids. Which means that many load up on these features to get a better safety rating. Whether they do add to real world safety is highly debatable. Not all safety features are as essential as the seat belt. Some features some times lead to confusion and errors. For example the blind spot warning lights on the side mirrors. Depending on this kind of tech completely rather than having good driving discipline is asking for trouble.

If I were those guys I’d be saying can we stop now. They need time to heal,c this continuous cycle of remeberance and grief isn’t good for anyone
I agree, but this is the second thing they've done I think. The funeral and this.
Although, if we're retiring his shirt, they'll probably do something at Anfield to commemorate him. It'll also be a chance for Ox, Sadio, Matip, Adrian, Klopp and many others to pay their respects.

Nice to see.

Any tributes and memorials will be taken in collaboration with his family, who were at Anfield today, so this will have their backing and support. I'm sure they'll have been given a list of ways the club can and would honor their sons. The club's handling of this even had been classy.

They'll be a mural on the way but I'd also hope there is something permanent installed around Anfield for the brothers. Some people only get to visit Anfield once in their lifetimes and I'm sure they would appreciate somewhere at least to pay some respect once all the current memorial ground has run it's course.
