Anyone ever seen him play ?

I'm quite curious about him. He's finishing his first season in the Bundesliga and has scored 25 goals thus far, in the process helping to fire VFL Wolfsburg to the top of the Bundesliga. Apparently he's quite a clever player , and a good goalscorer. He's just 23, so could be on the cusp of becoming a very good player.

Don't know if we're interested but I think he's available.

Despite Wolfsburg being on course for the title (and their first CL qualification), Felix Magath has said he'll be taking over at Schalke next season so some of the better players are bound to want to make a move.

"The Bosnian striker is currently the 2nd top scorer in Germany, 1 goal behind leading marksman and team-mate Grafite. However, Grafite’s tally includes 8 penalties whilst Dzeko’s 25-goal tally doesn’t include any from the spot. The Bosnian is also 7 years younger than his strike partner plus more creative and is tipped to move to one of the European giants this summer. He has a reputation as the ‘Bosnian Marco Van Basten’ due to his similar goal-scoring prowess, height and ability to score all sorts of goals.

Dzeko has all the attributes needed to be a big hit in the Premier League as not only is he tall (6 ft 3), he is also quick, can dribble and is two-footed. Not only has the Bosnian proved himself in the Bundesliga but also at international level where he boasts a superb record of 9 goals in 15 appearances for his country. He’s arguably the hottest international forward in the world right now after scoring 8 of his goals in his last 6 appearances. This includes 3 goals in two matches against Belgium last month. Dzeko also scored on his international debut against Turkey in June 2007 taking the step up in class in his stride."

Indeed. Maybe he could be the striker that could make a good impact off the bench. I'll go and youtube him.

Yep and if they win the title with Wolfsburg surely the better ones have ambitions of playing in a bigger club. Not a better moment to whore themselves out than after a title win.

Despite having barely heard of him, or ever seen him play, or indeed know what he looks like, I have decided that we should buy him immediately

Hadn't heard of him, but your post reminded me of another player, who I sent searching for...Verdad Ibisevic...and very strangely he is his compatriot for the Bosnia & Herzegovina national team, also played his first season in the Bundesliga and scored 18 goals in 17 games before cruciate ligament damage in January.

Seen him a couple of times for 1899 Hoffenheim (this years surprise package) and impressed me a lot along with Andreas Beck. Hopefully not a one season wonder.

Yes, and called a fat hijo de puta, or cunt or something

I feel convinced that this lad is going to be a big star and will probably guarantee us the title next season

We should make a banner

I've just decided that if Rafa shifts Xabi and replaces him with Barry *spits*

The only way I'll forgive him is if he signs Dzeko too.

Wolfsburg are determined to keep wanted man Edin Dzeko at the club.

In-form striker Dzeko has been linked with a move away from Wolfsburg with Premier League trio Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

Dzeko has enjoyed a fabulous season for Wolfsburg, netting 25 goals to inspire their challenge for the Bundesliga title.

The Bosnian international has admitted he will make a decision on his future at the end of the season, but Wolfsburg general director Jurgen Marbach insists Dzeko is not for sale.

"We are desperate to keep him at our club," Marbach told Rheinische Post.

"He is one of the most important players and a true part of our plans for the future."

Dzeko, who has claimed that the departure of manager Felix Magath to Schalke could influence his future, is under contract at Wolfsburg until the summer of 2011.

Can I get a plus one on that?

I've already got his name on my back. Big letters, with "bad mofo" underneath.

On a similar note;

Marco Di Vaio, 32 years old I know, is top scorer in Serie A with 23 goals from 30 something games for fucking Bologna.

Italians are notoriously shit in the Premier League, but if we're looking for cheap, goal-getting experience, he could be the ticket.
