Post Match EPL Fulham (A) 2-2 Sunday 4th January 15:15

Slots cowardice cost us that.

Why sub gakpo?

Why sub someone advanced? You're asking for trouble by leaving gaps in areas of the pitch
Oh come on. If he hadn't brought Gomez on everyone would be saying 'why not bring Gomez on for 2 mins - we were winning, no need to go for more, shore up the defence. And Gakpo had played 98 mins. I have no problem with the sub.

Maybe with the fact no-one went to him but the chance of him scoring from there - a player who's now only scored 4 times in his life - was 1000/1.

It is just our luck at the moment, 2 offside goals, 2 x woodwork and then that.

Kerkez is shit at crossing the ball if only he could put in crosses we would have more chances to score or at least threaten the opposition in the six yard box

Nah I don't buy it.

That goal doesn't happen if that sub doesn't happen.

He disrupted the system, Causing us to defend deeper and lose pressing power.

Now, would we have conceded a goal by a long ball and header if we didn't bring Gomez on? Also probably.

The fact we're debating which way we expected to drop points is a damning indictment on the manager and his system

As you may be aware I am a tactical ignorant, so can someone help me understand what has happened with our press. Have we just got shit at it or have teams worked out how to play through it? There was a time whenever a defender had the ball at his feet there was a good chance possession would be lost in the top 30 yards, now it seems it takes 2-3 passes and they are in our half.

Oh FFS. I want Slot gone too but WTF is that remark.

We drop off constantly and invite pressure. We play with fear with and without the ball. The manager doesn't instil any confidence, urgency or belief in the players. That's why we look nervous, scared and tired the vast majority of the time.

You have to be brave and play football and play with urgency and try to win the game. Maybe if we did that, we wouldn't be hanging on/chasing the result in the dying minutes of every game.

We're shite and passive. Unfortunately I think that's all there is to it

We don't press anymore basically.

Yeah and I don't get into a fender bender if I left the house 30 secs earlier/later. Doesn't mean I shouldn't have driven that day. The sub was not the reason for the goal.

Everything Klopp taught the players that are still there has been drilled out of them. We are massively unfit and can’t close anyone down without blowing out of our arses.

My dad died on new years day. He's not missing anything with this team.

I marginally preferred watching this inevitable draw than writing his eulogy, but it was close.
Oh sorry to hear that Farky. I think you were expecting it if I remember correctly, but still. RIP.

I don't necessarily think the sub was the reason for the goal. Dropping off and shitting ourselves like we do every game was. The substitution was defensive, but I didn't really have a problem with it in theory. But you can only make that sub if you also have a plan to be disciplined and limit the opposition and see the game out, ideally keeping the ball. The other team can't score if they don't have possession. I don't think Slot has a plan to see out games with the ball. It's just drop off and hope for the best.
