Bayern are probably the best side to watch in Europe right now, Davies and Musiala also both returning for them today.

They'll take some stopping.

so that diomande lad looks like the exact opposite of salah, pace, can beat a man, poor finishing. (based on the highlights against munich)

if we do manage to progress in the cl i just hope we avoid bayern, they look like they’d pound us. but the one thing we’ve learned about the bl is that good pl players look great over there.

So, that's Bayern added to anyone that can put together a semi-decent low block together that we need to avoid to have a chance. Great.

Wonder if we’ll ever see a direct purchase from the Brazilian league for a genuinely talented player (nope, not the Pitaluga or Allan type 😂).

Endrick - 19 yrs old
Estevao - 18 yrs old

A minibus transporting Greek football fans collided with a truck in Romania on Tuesday, leaving seven dead and three injured, officials said.

The minibus carrying 10 men was travelling from Greece to France when it collided with a truck in Timis county in western Romania, local police said.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said he was "deeply shaken" when he "learned of the tragic accident in Romania that claimed the lives of seven young compatriots".

"In these difficult moments, together with all Greeks, I extend my most sincere condolences to the victims' loved ones and to the PAOK family," he added on Facebook, referring to the PAOK football club the men supported.

A 29-year-old man was driving the minibus "when he crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a truck", Timis police said in a press release.

Of the seven who died, six victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Romanian emergency services told AFP, while three others were hospitalised with injuries.

The minibus was transporting PAOK Thessaloniki supporters to an away game, according to Thessaloniki mayor Stelios Angeloudis.

PAOK are set to play against Lyon on Thursday in the Europa League.

Racing Club Strasbourg Alsace are set to appoint former Heart of Midlothian head coach Neil Critchley as Gary O’Neil’s assistant coach, according to L’Equipe. O'Neil had an excellent start to life since he replaced Chelsea-bound Liam Rosenior in the dugout at La Meinau. Strasbourg have won three games on the bounce, including a remarkable 4-1 away win over Lille.

Neil Critchley notably oversaw two games as Liverpool stand-in head coach in the Cups due to Jürgen Klopp’s Reds’ fixture congestion during the 2019-20 season. Critchley then joined Blackpool and agreed to become Steven Gerrard’s assistant during the latter’s brief tenure as Aston Villa manager.

L’Equipe also reports that Strasbourg have poached former Bristol City First Team’s Physical Performance coach Derrick Bonsu from Queens Park Rangers. Strasbourg host Ligue 1 leaders PSG on Saturday.

It's been a nice story to watch. I expect them to be cannon fodder in the playoffs but still fun.

Ruined his career but must’ve made absolute bank.

Well you have to define 'career' really. Most people have few options within a small range. If the aim was to make enough money to retire for himself, parents, siblings and spouse/children, then he's on his way if not there already !

I did cover the second part of your post at the end of mine. He could’ve stayed at Villa and been on course to be a top player in the most illustrious leagues in the world. He was honest about it and wanted to pull his village/town out of poverty and just did that probably in a shorter time than expected. Sticking round in Europe, he would’ve done the same over a longer period of time but may have also won lots of shiny things too.

True - but there are more risks staying in the PL and he's never been playing at a top club likely to win shiny things. Seems he is a pragmatist and has found the way to a successful life that could potentially make everyone in his family very happy. Got to respect that.
