Yeah, all it does is give a false impression of players. It's better than no football, but only marginally.

I generally choose not to watch. Might watch the ones later in pre season as they start go get a bit more like real football, but the early ones are shite.

And I never forget that Bruno Cheyrou looked mustard in pre-season.

I liked it when pre season matches were in some obscure part of Norway and you were lucky if you got a 3 line summary in the Echo the following day. I remember one which reported our new CB, Glen Hysen, had scored a diving header &, based on that alone, I decided he would be a free scoring defender for us (he ended up with 2 to his name, I think) and laughed at how Utd had spunked over 2 million on Pallister while we got Glen for 700K

Right, I do enjoy seeing the youngsters play and hope at least one can break in this season. I am hopeful that Slot will be a little less conservative with his selections this year. He was well-known for developing young talent in Holland, but I think our early success last year and the potential for him to have early success in his role, led him to being much more conservative with less rotation.
