Florian and the (Slot) Machine

German press reporting that Wirtz to make his decision within the next 48hrs.

Bayern not favourites.

Will fucking hate it if he goes to City.

Where would Wirtz play for the blue cheaty cunts exactly..... surely he wouldn't be KDB's replacement?

He practically plays the same position as Marmoush/Foden.

Don’t they play in completely different positions?
Its clear Madrid need to replace Modric, I am guessing Alonso will want Wertz as part of a new system in the MF. Who plays where I am not sure? Its a complete guess but if it did happen, you wouldn't surprised now?

Edit.. straight after that update from Kicker.

BBC report that Man City are withdrawing from the race.

Still can't see him coming here mind you.. but 10%

great player, but is he robust enough?
some of the stuff he can do in the bundesliga would not work here

[Sami Mokbel] Exc: Man City withdrawing from race to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz. Feeling transfer - which would be the most expensive in #MCFC history - does not represent value for money. City estimate the deal would cost around €300m all in.

€300m total deal implies some pretty hefty wages...

If it's €150m for wages over 6 years, that's €25m a season, which is what, £20m or so? So £400k a week?

I guess there'd be a chunky commission to come out of that, but even so, can we really afford that sort of outlay?

I don't think the fee is much of an issue cos he's so young, but that kind of salary is a concern.

Rayan Cherki it is....

Tbf if we were smart, we'd take full advantage of Lyon's financial crisis and pinch Almada, Fofana, Mikautadze and basically replace our whole academy with theirs.

I hope we don’t sign him. If City are balking at the total package, we should too

Will be over 4 or 5 years you are missing agent fee and signing on fee.

I do wonder if bayer would accept a lesser bid from us to stop him going to Bayern. Providing wirtz is happy with either of course

load of shite, they’ve paid more before. city have been told he doesn’t want to go there, probably given the uncertainty around the 115
They've paid more, but now they need to do it legally, so don't want to
