Any recommendations?
I need a new pair and will be going into the city this weekend. Selection in Winnipeg may not be all that comprehensive but if you've got any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
(Side note/whining: First practice of the year tonight with a new team and I had left my shoes at my parents place when I moved away. Decided to go out in cross-trainers because I wanted to meet my teammates and get a bit of a run-out. Of course, I rolled my ankle pretty bad. Not much swelling or bruising but I heard a loud, audible double crack when it rolled over. Worried I may have a small stress fracture but that's actually better, in my opinions than a muscle sprain because it's less likely to be a recurring injury over the season. I've got priors with ankle injuries and really don't need that again. Didn't bother to go to the hospital because I know all they would give me are anti-inflammatories and analgesics that I probably have better versions of at home, and then tell me to ice and rest.
Needless to say I won't be trying to play in anything other than football shoes again. Though there's nothing really wrong with the pair I have at my parents, I think I'd like to get a new pair. Haven't played in an organized outdoor side since high school though I played a fair bit of pickup until two years ago and played indoor until last season.)
