Game against the Scum

Redcafe forecasts (from ca. 600 votes) :

Liverpool win 43%
United win 39%
Draw 18%

That's well against the grain for RC - over 80% of them expect to win the league this season.

The reasons as seen by pundits and agreed by one of their Admin :
  • Liverpool have a settled team (they know their first 11, ours is still up in the air)
  • Liverpool are in good form (5 wins in a row, whereas we have 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss)
  • Liverpool's results against the teams at the top of the table
  • Mourinho's record v Klopp
  • Anfield factor
I tend to agree but think we will concede so a 2-1 win for me.

Lallana said he is “touch and go” to feature in the game against Manchester United on Monday night, but claimed the match carries more importance than usual after recent league results between the two sides.

FA investigating Mourinhos comments about the ref.
Taylor is gonna be under some immense pressure tomorrow. Feels like there is gonna be some drama. Wrongly given red card or penalty - against us.

It'll be a score draw. I'm going to back 2-2 in the bookies.

What were Mourinhos comments about Taylor?

What were Mourinhos comments about Taylor?

United boss Mourinho said it would be "difficult" for Manchester-based Taylor to perform well after the decision to give him the game was criticised.

"Somebody with intention is putting such a pressure on him," said Mourinho.

Managers are not supposed to speak about referees prior to matches.

The FA will want to establish the context of the comments before deciding what action - if any - they wish to take.

The appointment of Taylor, who supports non-league Altrincham, was criticised by Keith Hackett, the ex-head of the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd.

The decision has also been questioned by Liverpool fans on social media.

Similar scrutiny last season led to the removal of Leicester-based official Kevin Friend from Tottenham's game at Stoke, when Spurs and the Foxes were both going for the title.

Mourinho, who replaced Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford in the summer, described Taylor, 37, as "a very good referee".

However, the 53-year-old Portuguese added: "I feel that it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance."

Fuck me. Norwegian telly start the warm up for the game at 9 am. 12 hours of studio before a monday night PL game. The world has officially gone total mad.

I am not watching it either. It is painfully enough to watch 3+ hours build up to the CL final where more or less smart experts play one obvious statement after the other..... Fuck me it is pathetic. And this year they increasedthe price to watch PL? Fuck them

I really dont like this. Sets us up for a fall.
First Matip with us being ready for the aerial challenges and now Hendo:

Henderson: If we play like we can then United won't be able to live with us

It suggests to me the players believe in what they're doing. It's the opposite of the Hodgson managing expectations era. The team believes that if they play like they know they can they're going to fuck united. I approve.

G.Neville :

United and Liverpool have been doing battle since 1894. When they kick off for the 197th time on Monday, I hope it’s electric, and yeah, maybe a bit dirty. If a Liverpool player scores the winning goal at Anfield on Monday Night Football I hope he jumps into the Kop with 10 of his teammates and Jurgen Klopp is running down the touchline like a maniac. If they did anything less, I’d be disappointed.

That madness and passion is the essence of football.

Liverpool and Manchester are so different, yet so alike. There’s a realness to both cities, an honesty to the people, a love of hard work, graft and most of all, football.

It’s more complicated than hate.

I hate that he gets it. And is the best football personality in the media. Fucking plank.

Malaysian reds (@Y1) - I'll be arriving into Penang on the Monday night, will any local channels (that will be available in my hotel - the Eastin) be carrying the match or do I need to rely on a stream

@tombrown
I am sure it will be broadcast live even during the unearthly hours here in Malaysia of 3 to 4 am local time. However I am not sure Eastin has the sports channel TV to show it. The best bet is to look for a 24hr Mamak (Indian Muslim) eatery shop with TV.

In KL there is a pub opened for the game. No news in Penang. Maybe you ask the hotel front desk whether they know of Mamak or pubs opened for the games nearby?

You just know Taylor will fuck up now. I've already accepted a 0-1 loss with Mourinho himself scoring a jammy penalty wrongly given.

I have no idea how which way this will go.

Hoping for the best , preparing for the worst.

4-1 ,ha.
