Seriously though, we needed an athlete rather than adding to our ageing midfield. This whole transfer window is turning out to be a joke.
Seriously, man? We’ve signed a shit-hot £80M striker, the best young attacker in the Championship and a talented Scottish right-back and got Diaz earlier - that’s all a “joke” to you? Maybe some fans deserve to be brought back to the times of Voronin and Konchesky to remember what it was like…
What did we spend on them? 10m? 2 potentially good Players for around 10m now + addons down the road if they work out. Wouldnt. Really call that a shed load now would you and as has been pointed out Diaz was signed in January but money came out of summer transfer funds so should be counted as a summer transfer....Yes in many ways it is a joke, especially when you start to mention these under 21's we have signed and are stopping our spending this transfer window because we want to spunk away a shed load of money signing this potential English talent for next season - who will still be under 21 years old. I have high hopes for Nunez, but our initial priority which was to get a midfielder is something that should have remained a priority this transfer window. We have a world cup this year, so think about the hyper inflation to any transfer fees for next season. I just wish Klopp and our Transfer team would do their usual magic of getting a player for 30M-35M for our midfield - one who has great potential, and turn him into a world-beater, if anyone can then Klopp can. There has to be an abundance of talent for midfield out there between the ages of 23 - 25.

I was responding to rurikbird regarding the signing of 3 players, - in my mind we have signed just one major - the others are too young to be taken as serious signings just yet - even if they turn out to be gems. The Diaz signing - yeah I hear you but again you have to question why last season after all that suffering and shit we only signed Konate and no one else ? - really do you think it was good enough ? - No - that Diaz signing was a late signing that should've been made last summer, and we did need him in the end given AFCON and our long season. Again this idea that Diaz was being planned for this summer is something I just don't believe.
Missing the obvious third option is a massive omission.
But, instead, I can see us just keeping Ox for one more year and then go with the same midfield as last season.
