Is on its way next season

From BBC Sport's Richard Conway: BBC Sport has learned that the Premier League meeting in London has passed goal-line technology for use next season, with British-based Hawk-Eye awarded the contract.
The FA will also install a system at Wembley Stadium in time for the Community Shield in August.
A raft of financial regulations have also been ratified by the 20 clubs.

I'm surprised the FA didn't prefer to install court room sketch artists behind each goal line to produce their impressions of any contentious incidents.

What a daft thing to bring in. How many times are their contentious goals? Video replays would be more beneficial for the game.

This season, about once every 2-3 weeks. When goal difference could mean the difference between £80M or not (Prem vs Championship season), then I think it's not only justified but overdue.

I posted a bit incorrectly. How many times over the season is the ball over the line and not given? No way is it every 2-3 weeks.

I've watched tons of footy this season, and watch MOTD religiously, and this year it has been at least one per month. Also, there's been a couple of weeks where it's happened at two different grounds, so I'd imagine it averages to one per 3 weeks (ish).

Its a good thing that its being installed, but video technology is needed aswell.
Suarez winner against Everton is probably the best example.

The video technology is already somewhat there in the TV replays. It's just a matter of approving and regulating its use, e.g. when clubs can challenge a decision during a game, what sorts of incidents will be reviewed post game, etc.

Trust the FA to prioritize the lesser important things first though.
