Sunny and Oncy - I have as it happens seen clips of Matuidi, having taken the trouble to look for them when his name was first mentioned a while ago.

And it's always the sign of someone losing the argument when they start coming it with the" never seen him play" crapola. A lot of signings are made on video evidence. May as well shut the forum down if we're not allowed to form views on the same basis.

very interestering table but I thought he and the majority of people in the squad were mostly shit in rafa's final season, hence our 7th place finish.
 
Lucas came 3rd in the 2009/2010 in Morses player of the seasn table. 2nd last season. Something people here contribute to. As for selling Lucas, adding money to it and bringing other players in. Sell Jay Spearing. He's worth £5m if Jamie O'Hara is.

Lucas isn't going anywhere anyway.

Ideally,yes. But I know that our current negotating master- gurus would take that 15 million, add another 10 to that and get in Stewart Downing. So no, I'd rather not sell Lucas.

If we were able to buy well, then I'd be all for it.

The problem is of course, that aside from the fact that the best players wouldnt want to come to a side not in the CL, I very much doubt our management is able to sell Liverpool to the next echelon of good players not in the CL next year anyway, though I hope that as the window shuts and these players dont get their dream moves to CL teams they'll look at Liverpool a lot more favourably.

Let's face it, CL or not we're still a massive draw.

Heh.. I've got fond memories of Igor from the season we won the CL, he was instrumental in the absence of Stevie during the run-in. Some of his mazy runs and through balls were a joy. I get the same sort of feeling about Lucas though, he clearly loves it here and I personally wouldn't like to be the one to tell him he had to go (if he does anytime soon), I think it would break his heart, just like with Igor.

I think you need lads like him in the squad and in the dressing room, Stevie clearly has alot of time for him too. He's come on alot and is still relatively young, if a top fee came in we'd be foolish not to think about it, but I wouldn't actively try to look to move him on.
 
I've seen enough of Lucas (only on the tv mind) to know that even at his best he's still average. If a decent offer came in i'd be more than happy if we sold him.

Even though Lucas was our best player last season, is it that inconceivable that it was a one off. I have to admit I am not his biggest fan but what he does on the field is a thankless task. If he has a shocker then its noticed by everybody but when he has an effective but quiet game nobody notices it. I tend to agree that he has started fitting in really well and also think that he must have something because since he has been there we've had three managers and they all have found a place for him in the line up even if it on the bench. If he left I wouldn't be arsed but it would be a gamble whether or not a big money signing would come in and fit in straight away, its taken him this long to produce so after all is said and done keeping him would probably be the best option, after all you dont represent your country as captain if you are just average, especially when it comes to Brazil.
