We absolutely have. I can imagine the release clause will be 100m and active from next summer. It would have to be low enough to be worthwhile for him to sign.
All the noise from the English press is that it's too late for the move to happen now and that we won't make an alternative signing. It's all very well him getting a new deal with a sensible release clause, but time isn't really on his side - at his age we might well be missing out on the best year of his career. I'd want a serious discount if we signed him next summer instead.
Maybe we should just move on altogether and sign someone else this next week. I mean, if we even can.

I think we're sleepwalking into this not being a particularly good window. Given what the ask was, that's not shocking is it? Replacing two era defining fullbacks, two great attackers, and one misfit at a loss.

A month ago this was the best window of my lifetime. Now it's a usual FSG net spend window. Guehi and Isak changes the complexion, but we've gone from a guaranteed 10/10 to a potential 7/10, and at worst 5/10
The club is trying to get both, we are talking about the club laying out £165m+ for both. if the club can save £5m ad it takes uptil deadline day so be it

What did Strand Larsen cost Wolves? If it's as little as memory suggests, that profit should give them a bit of help in the market. Heaven knows they need it.
