Jurgen - yes or no?

Will you take Jurgen Klopp as interim manager right now?

Would hate for him to come back and not live up to expectations. He has brought us success, left on his own terms and cemented his legacy.

I will prefer to leave him alone unless he himself has decided he wants back.

Heart would absolutely say yes, but logically, unless for whatever reason he’s had a change of heart and is happy to commit to another few seasons, we have to move on.

Obviously there’s no guarantee that he could immediately fix the situation, as someone else pointed out most of the coaching team he relied on for tactics are now in other roles. Then even if he did go on a worldie run would just create a tough situation for all parties involved when the summer would come. We would all be clamouring for him to stay when he would probably just want to go back to sleeping and playing paddle board and then the next manager coming in would have more of a tougher challenge walking in after him than Slot had.

If worse comes to worse and we go down the interim till the end of the season route then it’s more likely to be a Gerrard type figure. Someone who realistically wouldn’t be a long term manager candidate for many of us, but we would still get behind because he’s Gerrard. It would be incredibly similar circumstances we hired Kenny when Hodgson was sacked midway through the season although this time I think FSG would persist with getting their ideal candidate in the summer even if Gerrard did well to avoid the scenario they had with Dalglish when they clearly didn’t align with the majority of fans on wanting him stay longer term.

If by being similar to Dalglish you mean the minute he had his hands in the cookie jar he'd start buying overpriced tat from his agent friends and taking massive brown envelopes for the privilege I think you might be bang on.

On Jürgen Klopp/Real Madrid stories. Oliver Mintzlaff said this yesterday:“Jürgen has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be a coach at the moment. Whether that changes at some point in his life, of course, is possible. But I can see how passionate he is about this job, how many ideas he has, and how much he wants to develop further. Therefore, I’m completely relaxed.”
