I have never been a fan of Gomez. Aside from all his injuries I just don’t think he is very good. He’s not strong aerially, he gets bullied by powerful forwards, he loses concentration and he offers zero goal threat.
Now is the ideal time to sell. He is a 28 year old England international so must be valued at 30m+.
I haven’t seen too much of Collins but the bit I have seen he reminds me of a Stephane Henchoz type of player i.e. no fuss, just does the job without any frills.
If we are interested we should offer Gomez and Doak in exchange. Mbeumo is leaving so Brentford need a wide-right player and Doak has good potential.
If we sell Gomez i don't think we sell Quansah. Least not this season
Can see us getting in a decent HG defender, but i've no fucking clue who
I have been wanting to sell Gomez for a while but look at how many players are leaving? It strike me of instability. They tie Konate to a long term contract and get this Brentford guy in - I am less concerned what we do with Gomez and Quansah.I like Gomez, particularly his versatility, but to state the obvious it's the injuries with him. They make him more or less useless. If a club is really gonna pay £30m for him then we should snap their hand off.
I have a feeling it could be Guehi.
I'd be very happy with that, but he won't be cheap.
Little know fact - Nathan Collins Dad was a trialist at Liverpool in the late 80.s early 90s.
He played for Cherrier, I played for Home Farm, and he was highly thought of, also as a Center Half
1 year left on his deal. Palace will want to avoid losing him for free, so there is a good deal to be done there.
I like him but he's a bit short for a CB in all honesty. Could be a good back up though and replace Gomez/Quansah.
I still think he'd be too much. Unless we do some mad deal and cut them a deal on our of our players I just cant see itI have a feeling it could be Guehi.

Probably around 30-35 mill I reckon with 1 year left on his contract. Palace will do well to get more than that.
Surely not. They'll want at least £50m.
I'm not against selling him. I'm just saying that despite his availability issues, he's going to be hard to replace. Just look at Klopp's last season. He played everywhere when Robbo, Matip, Konate and Trent were out.At his best, no... but at the level we get on average, sadly yes. Shame injuries have really hampered his career.
If we can get a good fee then yeah, now is probably the time to say goodbye.
Gonna end up having to totally rebuild the defence at this rate.
No way they are getting 50 mill for Guehi when he's a free agent next summer.
We got £10 million for someone a month away from being out of contractNo way they are getting 50 mill for Guehi when he's a free agent next summer.

One year left doesn't reduce value that much. Maybe 20% or so.
No way that happens. Newcastle bid 60-65 mill last season.
A club like Palace simply can’t risk losing a major asset on a free next seasons, so I’d say they’re in a weaker position than if he was at a top six club.I'd say he's worth about £70m normally. Contract situation say knock off 25%, still leaves him at £52.5m.
Don’t you play FF?I can comfortably say I have never noticed this guy, so presume he's a bit shit
I don't agree with the 'rebuild' comment. At least not a total rebuild, with Gomez and Quansah (also Nunez, Jota etc.) we are looking at squad players. Ready to replace without any disruption. Konate won't be sold - new contract or free.I have been wanting to sell Gomez for a while but look at how many players are leaving? It strike me of instability. it feels like a rebuild, more than strengthening now (when there are so many departures)
