Liverpool related transfer speculation

Our next fixture is in 12 days, we'll probably play some behind closed doors games before that, but I really hope we manage to get a striker in.

Seriously - we going from potentially getting Isak to getting this guy ?

When you put it like that…

We’re also going from potentially perfecting a Luis Suarez cloning program to this guy!!!!

He isn't a bad player. He has a shot to goal conversion of 19.1%. Depending on the price he might not be a bad buy. He is fast, he is good in the air and good with his feet. However, I think we need a back up #9 as Nunez is destined to leave

Is now a good time to say Twatter has blown up with us supposedly interested in signing Mateta?

@bluebell - if a player costs 70M or more regardless of current prices, we buy them to be an expert in their position I would hope, and not only that I want them to shit gold. There is no room for £70M projects OK ?

As a semi cheap stop gap I actually wouldn’t mind Mateta.

The best finishers in the Premier League last season in terms of goal conversions:

🥇 Alexander Isak (25%)
🥈 Bryan Mbeumo (24.39%)
🥉 Jean-Philippe Mateta (23.3%)

Agreed.

Mateta is very very very underrated.

36 goals and 10 assists in two seasons. For Crystal Palace. THIRTY SIX!

This is getting worse, typical FSG, fool everyone by spending the money of last year and then spend fuck all on the positions we need to defend the title, down to 3 CB just like the season Lovren left, and now cannot afford to replace the front line or pay enough money to keep the want away players happy. FUCK YOU JOHN AND THE REST OF FSG.

The prices are all stupid now anyway if you're signing players from the premier league. I wouldn't have an issue with signing him for £50m if we got someone like Ekitike in as first choice. Realistically, with Jota no longer with us, we need two strikers.

Nurse! Nurse! Moron's bitten the straps off his strait jacket again!

Mateta went for a long dry spell before hitting current form. Two one dimensional for me. I'd take Sesko if not crazy money. We've got a great relationship with Red Bull.

I was desperate for Nunez to move on as he's so frustrating but given the situation I'd rather keep him then sell him for the £35m odd that Napoli are offering. Being backup might take the pressure off and increase his hunger but think Slot has already given up on him, like the rest of us.

Surprised at the lack of movement with Tsimikas, Morton, Doak and Chiesa. I reckon we're asking ridiculous asking prices, which has cost us in the past. After Ibe, Carvalho, Brewster etc, I think clubs have wisened up. Seems a daft strategy at times.

Sesko will be crazy money, don't you understand the Red Bull model?

I can't see palace asking for less. Especially with them potentially losing Eze and guehi. They're going to want a sizeable chunk.

We were after that much for Nunez and he's fucking gash

He’s got 2 years left on his deal. Might be a release clause there as well.

Darwin is 2 years younger and has 3 years left on his deal.

It’s all about market opportunity for me. If he’s too expensive, avoid. Decent fee, interested.
