Liverpool related transfer speculation

I'm all for Rodrygo - he's class, but he's got to want to be here. Most players, Brazilian especially will see signing for Madrid as the pinnacle of their career and being sold in peak years is some level of failure. That's my only doubt with him.

If one of Rodrygo or Isak arrives then I'll be made up. After those two there's a degree of indifference to all other targets.

I think we're effectively saying to Newcastle, sell us Isak or we'll gazump you for Ekitike. Both is just greedy.

Not really. Rodrygo with more goals and assists. 39 G/A in 64 CL games is impressive.
In CL there's no doubt rodrygo is king. But if you consider that rodrygo has been playing for one of the best teams in the world for the last 5 years, and Gordon hasn't; their stats aren't dramatically different (if we compare season by season).

But we DEFO won't go for Gordon, as that's gone so fucking quiet, and if we go for Isak the. There's no chance

Rodrygo and Isak however....even rodrygo and Ekitike....

Agreed if we’re signing Isak then Gordon is a definite no…

We are alarmingly short upfront all of a sudden. Nunez will leave for sure. Diaz is not exactly a striker. If we start Diaz upfront next season it will be 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

So if Diaz and Nunez are to leave, we will need 2 forwards at the bare minimum. It's a tall order at this point and other clubs will know we are desperate.

That's ambiguous, David. We have made bid but the club says "no bid made"

I think what we're basically saying is "we're going to speak to him / his agent to try to turn his head unless you kick off and threaten to report us". This is how it's done. This is why we got into trouble over Virgil with Southampton as Michael Edwards, who was new to the game then, didn't know / follow the etiquette and didn't make this call.
If this is true, you can expect stories to follow about Isak agreeing terms and wanting the move, it's up to Newcastle, in the next few days.

Exclusive: Liverpool to rival Newcastle for Ekitike after Isak not for sale
Exclusive by Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas and Keith Downie:

Liverpool are expected to rival Newcastle for Hugo Ekitike after being told Alexander Isak is not for sale in this window.

The Premier League champions have always been interested in Isak, but it is understood Newcastle have no interest in selling him and value him at least at £150m.

Liverpool also have an interest in Ekitike, who Newcastle have had a bid rejected for in the last 24 hours, and are set to turn their attentions to the Eintracht Frankfurt forward.

Can someone start a thread please. If we want this to happen me and Ryan need somewhere to pitch our tents.

I'm not massively. It's a terrifyingly large fee
I see it as 120m…any add ons mean that we’ve bought well…I think he’s the most complete striker out there…in which case 120m is value enough.

He’d also surely dovetail perfectly with Wirtz and Salah?
