Liverpool related transfer speculation

lets look at signings (we have been linked to) that you strongly feel you don't want.

Me
Kingsley Coman - 29 and always injury prone
KDB - too old
Alvarez - too expensive
Leroy Sane - wage demand too high
Didn't conman sign a new deal?
Alvarez wouldn't be too expensive considering his age. He's only on 115k a week as well.

Julian Alvarez? he is 25 and went for €90m last summer. Coman supposedly wants to leave Bayern.

I would only accept coman if he is fucking cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeap.

Unless we're after someone to replace chiesa, i don't see the point

Those that you think are decent - are not actually good enough, that is where your problem is. You are right - we won because we were the most consistent team, but we have seen over the years that both us/city and Arsenal are more than capable of being more consistent than we were this season. In that aspect we have been lucky, and that is what has led us to this title plus the strengthing of the so called mid-teams.

And if we sign a quality CF, LB & RB at the very least, do you not think we’ll also improve?

In addition - new signings don’t always improve things.

I’m not going to be upset if we sign a load of good players, I just don’t think it’s likely.

Every season you and the other crazies, convince yourself we need 6-7 signings or the sky will fall, then whip yourself into a frenzy about all the players linked to us by people making up shit for social media clicks, then when we don’t sign them and make less signings you enter a phase of a anger and depression.

It’s like the SCM transfer grief cycle that is doomed to start and end with Highes and FSG being cunts either much gnashing of teeth inbetween.

Fuck knows how you’ll all cope when we don’t sign anyone in this special extra transfer window.

Look @StevieM - the midfield we have is not enough to compete in all competitions, he always selects from the 4 he trusts most and uses Endo sparingly ( I think Endo is quality). Our quad charge season we used 7 mids seapping them over when Klopp needed to, we just another one so we do not run Grav/Mac into the ground.

I do not mind replacing Both Jotta and Nunez with one quality striker and using Jadon when necessary. Problem is we probably do need 5, 3 at the back, one midfielder and a striker. Also next season is gonna be a struggle to get these players to commit 100% for club when there is a WC in 2026.

Really - the midfield isn’t good enough to compete in all competitions - Dreamie will be after you for suggesting we even bother trying to compete in all comps.

Anyway - I disagree fundamentally because we could have played Endo & Harvey more and still won the league with ease and achieved more in European and domestic cup comps.

It was a choice by the manager not to play those players and I’m not entirely convinced it completely down to him “not trusting them”.

He trusted Harvey & Endo enough to bring them on as a sub in both games versus PSG and Harvey on as a sub in the League cup final but barely start them in league games when other players could have been rested.

So I’m not completely convinced that lots of new players means those players are actually going to play - which is were I revert to the question about how Slot wants to using the playing assets at his disposal and that a league is best won by trying to play as few players as possible.

I agree, if Slot wanted to use another midfielder it would be good - maybe that’s Badger - up to him to stake a claim.

You've as much chance of me having ANY credibility of anything coming out of LFCTransfer (clickbait merchants) as me pulling a 25 year old model for booty calls. And from a Madrid radio station (no agenda/bias surely)?
Usually I'd agree however the player has already said he wants to play in La Liga as he's uh-hmmmm Spanish.

He wants to win at all costs. Madrid is the easy option

Depends on what real want really. 50m for Huijsen now, or saliba on a free next year. Or both.

I still think the logical option at right back is to go for an experienced more rounded defender who can fill in at centre half. Bradley needs room to grow and I don't think buying Frimpong helps his progress at all. That said, Frimpong is a big talent, I just think Slot wants more solidity and I think the Trent departure gives us an opportunity to address that once and for all. Buying Frimpong seems more of the same in terms of defensive weakness.

I think we're planning on Frimpong for RW/RB rest/rotation. CB we're fine really (though I'm not elated with the options). More likely to get an LB who can play CB (maybe Hato?)

I think those type of players are almost harder to get. More often than not you end up with someone who just isn't good enough.

I'm less bothered about protecting Bradley's development than others. Sometimes in football you have to grab opportunities when they come along. This season could've / should've been his to show that he can step into TAA's place but he started the season slowly (read: poorly) and had injury issues again.

Let's get the best RB we can get and Bradley will have to duke it out with whoever that is.

Frimmylad might be the boss version we saw of Trent when winning the league and European Cup. I forgave him for some defensive frailty because he was such an attacking force and kept the opposition camped in their half. That was so good we could just leave Virgil back on his own.

This is it for me. It's not on us to hope someone develops, it's on the player to make themselves indispensable. Trent did it when clyne was out after all

To be fair to Bradley, that's exactly what he did last season when Trent was out. It's only when he got that injury that he then struggled to get over it and get fully fit. It's the niggling injury that he needs to shake off going into next season. I do agree though, maybe he just needs to fight it out.

Pretty sure if you had deep pockets many of these models would. There's fat middle aged crypto millionaires working their willies over time.
We have been down this road before with Bellendingham, where I posted links from Spanish Publications saying he is going to Spain, and a few posters kept dismissing it. Its no secret Madrid are after a defender, and if they move for Huijsen, they will get him. If we know that they want Huijsen, we should not waste time and try to compete, its futile. Its sure as day follows night, he will choose Madrid

Madrid would rather wait a year and get Saliba on a free than pay a fee for someone else. It’s part of their power play of “we are just going to take your best players and there’s nothing you can do about it” approach. That way they stop strengthen other teams by taking money out of the transfer economy.

Yes that's true I know that - but it doesn't mean that he meant that as his next stop. Will they trust a CB starting slot to one so young?

History is not a predictor of future events. Every season M'Bappe was going to RM - it happened about 5 years after the first "Welcome to Madrid" rumours.

There is no competing with them. Hincapie it is then

I wonder if this relates to the fact that Ancelotti is leaving the day after Real’s final league game, with, and I presume it’s Alonso, taking over and going straight into the Club World Cup.

Does Alonso need another CB quickly so he can cover the space Trent’s going to leave at RB introduce 3 at the back?l immediately.
