Liverpool related transfer speculation

I reckon our data nerds don't give a fuck about running contracts down and letting players go free.

They have done it before, Emre Can for example, they made an offer, he wanted something they wouldn't give and that was that.

Found a replacement, probably on cheaper wages and went on to win shit.
Yes , that seems to be it, the other thing they maybe looking at is if he is on the same level when VVD is not playing. If not then that might make his rating the same as some other defenders on the market who are not earning 200K wages.

99% chance it’s Chelsea because they can’t help themselves with signing players that either aren’t very good or they don’t need.

It'd be fun if it was us seeing as he wants to come.

We could do with a player with a bit of magic footwork in the squad, this would be like the time we signed wee Phil.

This 17 year old is in a group chat with Trent and Huijsen, and a Vinicus Jnr poster on his wall
He's Argentinian, you think he'll have a Brasilian on his wall? A black one at that?
No chance, but he's still picking Real or Barca over us.

Madrid bound eventually.

See Xabi has asked Madrid to block any deals for Stiller with Liverpool and he wants him at Real.
If that happens then I give up.

I want us to get Stiller, think he's an extremely talented and intelligent footballer.
I know it's not a priority but if a deal was there to be made then why not? Especially if it's for price quoted below...

According to Marca, Alonso has told Madrid to get a deal done for Stiller in the summer transfer window and stop him from joining Liverpool.

Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos could leave Los Blancos this summer, and Madrid will need a new midfiel

Alonso has seen Stiller closely in the Bundesliga, and the former Liverpool and Madrid midfielder believes that the 24-year-old Germany international would star at the Santiago Berna

According to Marca, Stiller is valued at €40million (£33.6m / $44.6m), with Liverpool also keen on the defensive midfiel

Defensa Central, too, has noted Liverpool’s interest in Stiller, who was described in Breaking The Lines in March 2025 as ‘The Diamond of the Bundesliga’, with former Stuttgart and Germany international right-back Andreas Beck noting that he is one of the “gems” in the German top fli

It really pisses me off that we're automatically disqualified from signing a big name player. It's always fucking thrift store/bargain bin signings and when the season starts they're on display like on the BBC antiques roadshow, and we're like "how much are they really worth?!"

"Oh a Chiesa, Italian made...hmm...well it's not in mint condition unfortunately".
"You can clearly see that extensive repairs have been made, some hairline cracks are still visible".
"May I ask how much you paid for it?"
"£10 million?! Hmm...in mint condition I'd value this piece at about £70 mill, but given its present condition, I'd give you about half a Calzone".

I think it is time for us to splash a decent wedge on the striker position.
Say 80-100 mill.

Fullbacks can be covered with more modest outlays.

Next summer, on the CB or Salah replacement.

It pisses me off that fans are so quick to forget - esp. relative to what they cost at the time (VvD, Ali, Nunez, Szobo, Keita and even Mane, Mo and Firmino weren't cheap going back 7-9 years). 😉 😛

None of them were big name signings. They were big but we weren't competing with Real and Barca for them.

I agree.

I expect we’ll be able to show record revenue and probably profit for the season ending.

Fuck all spent and extra income on previous year from CL & winning the league.

Next summer is a WC year and we know what bollocks that creates - we’ve created the perfect conditions to go out and compete with anyone to sign the best players available.

No fucking around - If Wirtz indicates he’s open to a move to us - we know Leverkusen would prefer that to Bayernand right now, we’re a better option than City.

I don’t care if we only sign 2-3 players if they’re just fucking ballers - rather than this pretending we’ll be better of signing 6 average players.

Sign Wirtz, sign Alvarez, sign Kerkez, sign Frimpong - let everyone else worry about it.

Yep, all that.
Although I imagine only one of those two forwards would be signed.

Just because Barca or Real weren't after them doesn't mean they weren't big. Alison broke the record fee for a goalkeeper and VVD was the most expensive fee for a defender. THAT IS BIG. I don't give two hoots who Real and Barca are buying or if they're competing with us to buy a player. I trust our data and analytics team over theirs
