Liverpool related transfer speculation

Or keep Diaz, forget buying number 9, buy Rodrigo and then play four out of Salah, Wirtz, Diaz, Gakpo, and Rodrygo. Ball the living daylights of our opponents.
And miss chance after chance after chance after chance.
Remotes will be thrown.

Nunez is leaving. Diaz by all accounts wants to move. Cheesy will be gone. We will have 2 wide fwds only after that. My hope is if Isak isn't available, we get Samu, Ekitike and Rodrygo. We have upto £150m for Isak so streteching to upto £200m shouldn't be an issue with sales factored in or possibly I am just in fantasy land

i’d love to land a weird out of the blue forward, someone like jamie vardy but not jamie vardy. an old head from the top level to be on the bench and set the standards off it. a fowler, a litmanen, a klose, i don’t know who, looking around i don’t see much.

Lautaro.

Or Kane

Yeah, I’m a sucker for these kinds of strikers too, not super slick or fast, but they always score. Was a huge fan of Klose, Klinsmann and Raul.

Retegui? That young Garcia lad from Real actually seems to fit the bill.

That's wild. Trying to think who they could land. I mean I guess it's anyone with that kind of money.

Kane, Lewandowski, Griezman, Neuer are all the right age and profile for Saudi clubs to want, but they'll be plenty of younger players who want to rake it in tax free. Whatever happens they'll be some wild domino effects and inflation if the market. The likes of Frimpong and Kerkez will likely look even better value by the end of the window.

How many times did I say buy Pedro Neto?!

People complaining about prior injuries...
How many times has he been injured for Chelsea?
Look at him, perfect Salah replacement.

Salah is still here though.

Anyways, when you buy 300 forwards, you can afford to take risks.

Lets keep some context here, since 2020/2021 Neto missed 556 days injured across 5 different injuries. We already had Jota as an injury prone forward and we all largely agreed that after the likes of Chamberlain, Keita, Thiago, etc, that you rightly cannot flood a wage bill with these types of players. The odds are he goes down again in the next few years, he'll have one hamstring and knee injury too many, and we won't regret missing out on him. It's the sort of player we would berating the club for signing given his prior injury record, especially when Jota was already on the books. As Keni says, Chelsea can take that punt because they surrounded him with about 5-1000 other wingers.

But Neto wasn't that much of a risk. I mean if we're talking risks, Chiesa was a risk. Sure a cheaper risk, but unproven in the Prem unlike Neto.

Yeah, but he's not running or playing as much for Chelsea as he did for Wolves. Hence no injuries. Would have been perfect to have as an option for Salah.

Like I said, didn't stop us from taking a punt on Chiesa.

The guy who got 4 goals 6 assists last season, playing 2200 mins across 35 games. Our under performers Jota (RIP) had 6 goals and 4 assists and Nunez, 5 goals and 3 assists in half the number of minutes. We won the league at a cantor, Chelsea struggled to get 4th. I respect you @Modo but you're wrong on this one.
Most seasons I have at least a dozen suggestions and I don't think Klopp was bad at signings, but our talent recruitment guys are exceptional, far better than Klopp at ID talent. Maybe if Pep L wasn't always whispering, we would have got Isak over Nunez. I don't have as many because I trust them to get it right

He is talented for sure and if he stays injury free can be a real asset but let's not rewrite history. 55M for a player with this record doesn't really qualify as "not that much of a risk":

Plus we weren't going to sell any of our forwards last summer so weren't in a position to buy him anyways. Kvara on the other hand, is someone you buy and worry about who makes way later.

two players i’ve never seen kick a ball so it’d certainly be a surprise

jhon duran was an interesting link, it had me considering who had jumped to the SPL too soon and might like a return… someone like ivan toney

You're comparing Neto with strikers.

if we’re looking backwards at missed opportunities raphinha should’ve been given a right good monitoring by us. although not sure he had any interest in clubs other than barcelona
