Liverpool related transfer speculation

We don't need both Robbo and Tsimi, one of them has to go. Tsimi would get us £10-15m and open up a non-HG player spot if we need it. If we get Isak and Guehi, it will be a 10/10 window imho

No we don’t “need” both, but we also don’t “need” to sell both Tsimikas & Chiesa even if we sign Isak & Guehi and as @Beamrider has mentioned, there might be more benefit to selling players next season than this.

Well that depends on what we're going to save on wages but more importantly they'll both be a year older with little to zero matches this season and plummeting values. Still worth it?

This is correct. I think my point was more that if we could do a loan with obligation to buy, pushing the profit on sale out a year but preserving the economic benefits (i.e. covering the wage cost and nailing down a fee), then that would be worthwhile.
The difference it would make to FFP in 4 years' time would not justify paying out 3 lots of wages next season for a single position and allowing declining values for the next 12 months, especially when Robbo will be out of contract next summer so will have no re-sale value at that point, unless we give him a new deal (and unless he accepts a Milner role I just don't see that happening).
In an ideal world, we either sell Robbo now when we can get a fee, or we send Kostas out on loan with a view to a sale next summer.

I’m not sure Tsimikas drops that much in value and he seems like a good guy to have around who won’t kick up a fuss about not playing. He’s not likely to be on that much.

Chiesa you absolutely sell as soon as someone offers decent money - his wage will be higher.

Their sale price dwarfs the wages and you’ve seen the numbers @Beamrider has posted. We need a constant trickle of sales, not a massive glut ‘ to balance the books’ (‘cos they don’t)

We don't need 3 left backs one has to go. After what happened to Jota, I would keep the scot and sell the Greek if it were upto me. Some players are like glue, they bring a team closer, and I think Robbo does this better than Tsimi.

I think we’ll play Tsimikas by ear - you have to have someone willing to buy in order to sell.

I see Spurs talking about wanting a LB and sniffing around Robinson - I would have thought Tsimikas was a reasonable option for Spurs and a really good one for Fulham if they cash in on Robinson, but we’re in no rush.

Tsimikas is a good LB for a mid tier club... I think its a case of Hughes getting around to selling squad options who have become surplus to requirements

Sounds like Tsimikas has rejected a few approaches made by different clubs so far.
The 75k per week contract renewal wasnt one of Klopps best decisions.

The club likely offered Tsimikas a good deal because they expected Robertson to remain at a high level for another year or two. I think there’s a sense that Klopp didn’t fully account for the decline of some players and the toll his style of football could take. At Dortmund, his players were often signed by other clubs before they aged, but unfortunately this became a recurring theme during his time at Liverpool, which is part of the reason we’re in the position of having three LB's now.

I agree that one needs to move on. Tsimi should be able to find a decent PL move that gives him reg football. He's plenty good enough, but the club may need to give him a nudge. Even the most accommodating of pros shouldn't be satisfied with being third choice, so ideally a club comes in and matches his wage.

£75k a week for most prem club is doable. I just think its about finding the time. Lets say we get £10m but we also save £3.5m in wages.

He's always maintained he loves it here and would prefer to be a backup with a chance to win trophies than a regular at a midtable club. He also featured in the new kit launch so I'm pretty sure he's staying for one more season at least. How much playing time is he going to get behind Kerkez and Robbo is another question though

Isak was on Newcastle's club store advertising - not any longer!

[Philipp Hinze] Still a topic at RB Leipzig: Harvey Elliott. Financially, it’s still difficult to pull off. It also depends on a possible departure of Xavi. Elliott remains on Leipzig’s list. A tough deal to make. Progress depends on various factors. Leipzig with outsider chances as reported

How about a trade for Sesko?

How about they reject United's offer for Sesko, encourage him to go to Newcastle and we sell them Harvey at a 10% discount?

Harvey to Leipzig could make good sense, in part because Klopp is a fan who knows him well, showed a lot of faith in him early, and regretted not using him more in the end. If difficult financially, I could see giving them an upfront discount with a sell-on fee.

Sigh. Rodrygo and Isak are nice and sexy. But the player I really hoped we'd go for is Tyler Dibling. Would have solved so many problems for us. Sadly looks like he's headed to Everton

Yeah I think Dibling would have been good signing, but Southampton want at least £40 mill for him.
