Let's get started. Massive game this, we have to be winning our home games ahead of a really tricky few away fixtures.

I'd go with this...

---------------------------Mignolet----------------------------

Johnson-------Skrtel-----------Sakho------------Enrique

---------------------------Lucas-------------------------------

-------Gerrard------------------------Henderson/Allen------

--------------------------Coutinho------------------------------

--------------Suarez-----------------Sturridge---------------

Revive the diamond and let the full-backs bomb on at home.

..................Mignolet.....................
Magic....Toure........Agger....Enrique
............Henderson.....................
.......Gerrard............Allen............
Suarez..........Sturridge..........Moses

Key word: Possession

Coutinho obv. plays if fit but I doubt that.

I'd start Alberto, mos def.

I saw this outfit live against Arsenal and if it's something we need to do, it's to sure up the midfield.

We need 5 midfielders on the pitch.

Stick with the 3-5-2 line up. They won't know what hit them.

If we play four at the back I would consider Toure at right back and Johnson on the left

-------------- Mingolet --------------
Johnson - Toure - Skrtel - Cissoko
------- Henderson ---- Lucas -------
-- Suarez ---- Gerrard ---- Moses
-------------- Sturridge --------------

That'll do.

Obviously all matches are huge but this one could define our season. If we get 3 points it will ensure that even if we don't beat Arsenal next week we'll still be in-and-around the top teams; lose or draw against WBA and then fuck up against the Arse then we'll be adrift with no momentum. 6 points against WBA and Arsenal and we can confidently say we're in with a shout this season.

I think we'll win but unfortunately will be betting against us because WBA @ 8.5/1 (9.4 Betfair price) is too big a price, they're a 5/1 shot IMO (and yes there'll be a few quid on McAuley 1st goal).

------------------Mignolet-------------------
Johnson---Toure---Sakho---Cissokho
----------------Henderson-----------------
-----------Gerrard----Allen----------------
----Suarez----Sturridge----Moses-----

I wonder if Kris is going to start hating Sakho more than Skrtel now, telling us how he's "not really good enough for a big team" and how he makes 10 mistakes in every game and is a "penalty waiting to happen", it must be even more infuriating this time, given he's left footed aswell.

(Cue posts about how we didn't concede in the first 3 games, and something about Barcelona).

Sakho offers something none of our other CB's do. He looks a good player and will hopefully improve even further. Toure and Sakho could prove a very strong combo as I have said already.

You have never understood that the reason I haven't rated Skrtel as much as you and others has got nothing to do with Agger.

It will be interesting to see who makes way with Lucas back. Hendo for me deserves a starting spot but based on last weekend we should start Alberto over Moses meaning that Hendo probably does need to make way with the line up being along the lines of (this is assuming that Rodgers won't move away from 3 CBs just yet)

------------Mignolet-----------
-----Toure--Skrtel--Sakho---
Johnson----Lucas-----Enrique
-------------Gerrard------------
-------------Alberto-------------
---------Studge--Suarez--------

I wouldn't be surprised to see Agger take the place of Sakho or Cissokho to start if Enrique is still injured.

They are 5 unbeaten and did the double against us last season. Tricky fixture.

Last season they had Lukaku to call on and I think we're a tad stronger this time. I think Sturridge, Gerrard and Suarez and the other internationals will have shaken off the torpor which often follows internationals and will be rested and raring to goal. We have greater goal threat this time.

2-0 to the Reds.

They don't score much (7 goals in 8 games), but neither do they concede too many (6 in 8).
Going to be a hard game, especially with Olsson getting free passes from the refs to kick lumps out of our guys.

It's not easy at all pat. These are decent.

Amalfitano could cause us some problems

Yeap. They played very well against United. Didnt watch any of their other games; but they will cause problems for us if they played how they played against the scum.

This isn't a West Brom thread until Rory wades in with 15 page match preview dossier.

As good as they are, most of our games can be previewed as follows:

We will struggle in midfield. Moses will run around not quite knowing what to do.

The defence will look fairly resolute but the other team will still end up having quite a few chances.

Suarez and Sturridge will look dangerous but will have to take the game by the scruff of the neck themselves in order to win it.

I'll crack up in Moses is deployed in a central role again. I just know he will though. It doesn't play to his strengths at all. Can't wait for Coutinho to be back. I'm going to go watch a you tube vid of him to remind myself of how good he is again.

I do like the idea of reverting back to a back 4, and something like the below would be interesting, but Johnson and Enrique play like wing backs anyway so they would almost be acting as our wingers. We would lack width without either though..

---------------Mignolet------------
Johnson--Toure--Skrtel--Enrique
---------------Lucas-----------------
--------Gerrard----Henderson----
--------------Alberto----------------
-------Sturridge--Suarez-------------

For me, if we want to play anyone behind SAS then it has to be Alberto as Moses simply can't play that role and should be given an impact role as a sub. Depending how the game goes, you could bring on Sterling and Moses as wingers for Hendo/Alberto and go towards a 442...

I'm going to this, so it's a cert we won't win. Seriously. Bet on us not to win.

2-0 to the Reds.

Good summary but I don't think we'll keep them at bay for the whole 90 minutes. 2-1 to us.

Because we were shocking against Newcastle?
It's got us to joint 2nd, I don't see BR changing it now no matter what we think.

I missed the NUFC game however the papers seemed to think we played a lot better than the posters on here, where we tend to be over critical at times. Was it really that diabolical ? Really ?
