Suso hasn't done anything special in the 2nd half. Mostly due to Almeria being shit.

Almeria protecting their lead. Suso on defensive duties.
Playing a 4-4-1 formation.

Almeria pushed back deep into their own half. Obviously, due to being one man short.

FFS Suso help the fullback!!!!

Jesus Christ this kid is lazy in defence. He positions himself well but he really needs to help defensively.

Great burst of energy by Suso on the right wing. Megs the first player, cuts in holds the ball. Is then fouled.

Suso yellow carded for time wasting.

2-2

Elche equalise with the last kick of the game.

Can't be arsed to summarise Suso's game. Good first half, decent 2nd half. Almeria are shit, he should have gone to an English team.

Almeria vs Elche

Like the two previous games, Suso started on the right wing. Almeria seemed to be playing
a 4-2-3-1, formation. I missed the first 30 mins of the first half but I did catch the first goal.

The move was started on the right with Suso cutting in. He was quickly closed down by three players but still managed to retrieve the ball and pass it out to the full back on the right who now had more space, due to Suso dragging some of their player inwards. The ball is then crossed in and Almeria score. Header bottom left of the goal. The keeper had no chance.

This is pretty much Suso's game, he was constantly looking to get the ball. Suso also seems a bit more disciplined and intelligent than his team-mates. When they were down to ten men he tried to play it simple and keep the ball within the team, while his team mates were trying to do solo runs.

He's also unselfish but he does have a tendency to look for killer passes too often. He can sometimes hold the ball for too long and ultimately lose possession or misplace the pass.

Suso had a good first half, due to Almeria wanting to attack. The team came out more defensive minded in the 2nd half and this affected Suso's game. Didn't see too much of the ball and had to work hard defensively, something he really needs to improve by the way.
He was the first choice set piece taker for our reserves, but he seems to be either second or third choice for Almeria, despite his assists.

Still, Almeria's manager clearly rates him because he hasn't been subbed yet. This is his
third 90-minute game. Not his best game but like I've said before, Almeria isn't a good team, at all.
This was the third game in a row where they've either drawn or lost despite going in front and holding the lead for most of the game.

The game ended 2-2. Almeria's 2nd goal was a penalty. Elche scored the equaliser in the 95th minute.

Has Suso gained a yard of pace? Or it's just La Liga being a 'slower' league? Been reading Silva comparisons from some quarters -- accurate?

Compared to Walcott, no.

But Suso isn't a winger, Suso should be playing in midfield. His size is the only thing keeping him for playing there.

But to clarify you original question, Suso has pace but he doesn't have the acceleration to beat players. Needs a few yards to get going, if you know what I mean.

Ah cheers. Based on the vid, he looks faster than before but that's probably the opposition. From his time so far in Spain, do you think the Silva comparisons are fair? Given his size, perhaps that's his calling, closer to the goal as an attacking midfielder?

We all want him to be a Mata, Silva, Isco or Hazard type player but its too early to tell. He needs to add goals to his game.
From what I've seen he's closer to Xavi than any one else.

N'goo came on as a sub in the 84th min for Yeovil. They lost 1-0 at home to Reading. 4th league defeats on the trot after opening day victory.
[article= http://www.ytfc.net/news/article/20130831-reading-mr-1026481.aspx#r2iFzq2tghxkbyKf.99 ]Johnson made three attacking subs bringing on Michael N'Goo, Sam Hoskins and Kevin Dawson for Hayter, Ralls and Grant but aside from a foul ON N'Goo in the box that again wasn't spotted by Mr Kettle.[/article]

Coady played the entire match for Sheff Utd in their 1-0 home defeat to MK Dons. Win-less in the last 5 matches.

Robinson played the full game for Blackpool against Watford at home. They won 1-0 with a late Ince strike that sent them top of the table. 3rd clean sheet in 4 games since he joined them.

Assaidi was an unused sub in yesterdays away win for Stoke over the hammers.
Nothing to see here folks, move along please!

Player Focus: Five Youngsters Set to Impress in La Liga

Suso – Almería (on loan from Liverpool)

Unable to find a role for him in the current Liverpool setup, Brendan Rodgers judged it correctly that Suso needed more playing time elsewhere. Almería it seems, might just be the perfect move despite their impending battle with relegation across the course of the season. Suso has been handed the responsibility of playmaker-in-chief and with it a free role which allows him to penetrate defences from a variety of areas. Already he’s managed 2 assists, one of which a perfectly weighted pass behind the defence after roaming centrally.

2 key passes per game since the season began make him the joint-most efficient for Almería, while his 14 successful dribbles per game is the best in La Liga. More important than any assist or dribble however, is the continuity that Suso will gain from the loan. Rather than be in and out of proceedings, he’s been earmarked as a vital cog in the works that operate to keep Almería in La Liga – all while still just 19 years old.
