It's worth it's own thread now as there's been a few tweets and articles knocking around about him.

How would you feel about this? Good player yes, but isn't he a Jew hating nut job?

Jew hating?!

Wtf have I missed? I remember him being at Brum. Just. Can't remember him setting the world alight though, but it was a long time ago & I may be thinking of the wrong player. About 4 years ago?

his agent claims he didn't know who Mussolini or Hitler are and doesn't know the significance of that salute.

To be fair making a roman salute doesn't yet make him a racist. Ignorant and stupid yes but I'd give him a benefit of the doubt here.

Deja vu!

Just googled him. Seems hes decent but a racist. Or incredibly thick. Though the two go hand in hand anyway.

amir zaki is the really anti-semitic one, maybe his dickishness gets a little confused with zarates?

We were after him a while back I think while rafa was still here he start off really well at brum

You're completely right, I've confused them, Zaki was the one who couldn't play in the same team as a Jew (yossi at the team in regards to us) wasn't he?

I used to confuse the two also, not sure about that it could have been portsmouth and avram grant he disliked. Either way its just not on is it? If he was german and he came out with that there would be uproar or a white player saying it about a black guy it would be hitting the headlines for ages.

On the subject or zarate wasn't he really good in the premier league during his loan spell or am i imagining that?

I don't buy his excuse...'what's a Hitler?'

There are some right bellends in this world.

Knew nothing about Zarates alledged racist streak. If we are in for him I hope it's only down to him beeing a bit thick as FFF said.

So, if we pair this racist guy with Yossi we'll get unpredictable moving and chasing all over the pitch without the ball.
Ok, it's settled then, Ming can go.

I liked him a lot. Pace, trickery, goes past his man, FK taker. Seems to score around 1:4 so not great but would be a better option in our squad than N'Gog.

Perhaps he got run over by a drunken Volvo driving Rabbi whilst waiting at a bus stop when he was young, and banged his head.

Edy Reja has confirmed that Mauro Zarate “wants to leave Lazio, as he pulled out of the Europa League game. It’s not the first time.”

Rumours of the striker pushing for a transfer have been rife for over a year, but intensified when he did not play in the Europa League play-off against Rabotnicki.

“Zarate was the one who pulled out of that game,” revealed Coach Reja.
“As far as I was concerned, he’s part of our UEFA list. It’s not the first time he has behaved this way.

“It seems to me he wants to leave, so perhaps didn’t want to block a transfer by making himself cup-tied.”

Zarate’s brother has told the media there are personal problems between the player and his Coach.

“For me, the players are all the same. His brother’s comments mean nothing to me, as Beppe Bozzo is Zarate’s agent. I can only say I don’t have it in for anyone and hearing these rumours makes me angry.

“I gave some guidelines to the club, but never stated anyone had to leave. If Zarate goes, we don’t have any planned replacements lined up. I would be happy if he stayed, because it’d give me more alternatives.

“Will there be disciplinary action? That’s up to the club. His qualities are beyond doubt, but his behaviour needs to change.

“He’s set to become a father soon and perhaps it will give him a greater sense of responsibility.
He can mature and improve so much, above all in his attitude, but it depends on him. I leave the doors open.

He has quality, but has got to grow in terms of mentality and consistency, both in a match situation and in training. Sometimes he wants to work, other times he doesn’t.

“Maurito turned up to pre-season training at least 5kg overweight and I cannot fail to take that into account.
I am tired of covering up for everyone and I am the only one getting criticised.

“Enough is enough. Lazio had a great transfer campaign, spending more than usual, and now we hope the results arrive. I have been in football for 50 years and I know how to control a squad.”

Rafa was always a fan of all the Zarate brothers especially Mauro. I think he's a cracking player, bit crazy though.
Better not tell Oncy about his run in with his main man Totti.

I can see the headlines now, "The Zarate Kid kicks Liverpool to the top of the table".

The guy has talent but his attitude is holding him back.

He thinks he's a bigger star than he really is.

For the past 2-3 seasons he's had pot shots at Totti & Roma throughout the seasons, especially before the Rome Derby's... he's hardly been at Lazio long and he acts like he lives and breathes the club & its history, yet when he was caught in the fascist salute scandal he denied any knowledge of knowing what it meant.

And pretty much every single time a half fit, slow Totti has upstaged him and made him look like a complete fool.

He's an idiot, doesn't deserve to wear the Red shirt.

Within 3 seasons he has gone from Lazio's most prized asset to a dispensable player.

Roopy. I would imagine that attitude makes him a hero in the eyes of Lazio supporters - maybe not so dumb 😉

Oh right. Stay clear of the fat Nazi prick then.

Maybe if they are desperate to offload and we get him cheap...

Talented player no doubt but as some have already said - a bit of a troublemaker by all accounts and we don't want them sorts at LFC.

I've just heard a £10m bid has been accepted for him.....

Where did you hear this, Duck?
