Mignolet was a decent keeper anyone below the top six, but yeah lacked the concentration, wasn't great at distribution, and sometimes was out muscled coming with crosses. He showed the danger of signing keepers who are thriving in a relegation battle when they are active all game long. Being a keeper for a side at the top of the PL just comes with a different skill set, which is partly why the majority of major clubs have been struggling to recruit GKs for ages. We was good enough for what we needed at the time however the club grew beyond his skill-set. I know he's won titles in Belgium but the level
Mignolet is a nice guy. He spoke recently about it was obvious to him from the get go that Ali was a better keeper and there was zero bitterness to his stone. He spoke very warmly, which shows the type of character he is.
