Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

We wonder why this forum has gone down the pan? The place has become written version of AF TV.

Thought He was still better than the lad who was on from the start and the other one was on at the end. Screaming at one player is not going to solve this one this current state.

Gone down the pan? You make it sound like we were all reasonable people when this forum started 20 years ago.

Speak for yourself 😉. Stats are there, place was better version of ourself and LFC was worse. We didn’t have threads to bash players like fallen legends like Hyppia or Hamman back then. Utterly pointless but it is a free forum, well it was but we are now out of funds.

9 more days.

9 more days until we're free.

9 more days until he's hopefully played his last game for the club. Book this mummy looking twat on the next flight out to Jeddah.

As my old science teacher once said to me, who needs enemies when you get friends like this. You can swap friends for fans if you like.

Mo has had much love and will always be remembered for what he has brought to this club. When he leaves he will always be welcomed back.

Learning science, is not the same as performance management, in a results environment. Old age comes to all of us….

The better analogy would have been whether he’d have had to kick you out once your consistent performance became a C rather than an A. It’s easy for a teacher to have that philosophy when results don’t affect whether he keeps his job or not.

Think you missed the point. Simply, screaming same profanities at a falling star is pointless thing. Currenly, we have many and it’s a zero sum game. Fixing the system would be the only way long term, we have so many under performers so it’s not healthy to keep frothing at chosen scape goats but all means if it makes you feel better then carry on..,

I’m not sure I’ve “frothed at the mouth” nor screamed “profanities” at him… rather just highlighting, age catches all us up….otherwise we’d still have Gerrard and Dalglish in our first team.

It just is what it is….there were big signs last year, despite the numbers.

Phenomenal player, but as Paisley once said, let them lose their legs on someone else’s pitch. We’re Liverpool football club, wanting to win every trophy, not Southampton embracing a Matt Le Tissier.

That notion, of biology I’m sure science teacher would have agreed with.

Ultimately it can only be a good thing because it will tell us where we are at with replacing him in the long term. It might also tell us whether we're just suffering because Slot is so bad too. Assuming he will be here.

There are so many players under par right now, I wouldn't put all of our eggs in the "everything will be ok when Salah's at AFCON" basket, because it clearly wasn't ok in the first half against Sunderland, regardless of how poor he was when he then came on.

Wasn't referring to you dude. Just general aspect of screaming at the moon on this thread, it won't change. Age is inevitable.

There's definitely a healthy middle ground where we can respect a living legend for all he's done for us, but also be frustrated his form has dropped off a cliff the moment he's handed a £400k a week contract. It's also not his fault we've allowed ourselves to become so reliant on his numbers over the years. It's annoying situation but he doesn't deserve any hate thrown his way.

We've took a calculated gamble in the summer, which doesn't look to have paid off on the pitch, but there's always been the Saudi safety net if things went tits up. We may need to activate it.

That's why I've recently added him to my very very short ignore list (along with the rabid Salah worshipper Rubans etc.). Every thread polluted with the same pathetic rhetoric.
Says a lot about someone who sits there boasting about their ignore list like a vidi printer, boring bollocks with same infactual hateful nonsense on repeat.. I doubt anyone cares they are on Froggy's long list of ignores, oh no...

I don;t see that net being available. He will see out that contract here.

I think it’s dependent, on how much he plays. He won’t sit on a bench being a bit part player….his ego and self belief will drive him to believe he could be the main man at any club in Europe, but like most footballers, they’re a bit deluded when Father Time comes calling. If the club assesses him as a saleable asset….they will be very keen to release their own obligation for the final year of his huge contract.

A strong manager would make that decision, manage upwards and put the ball back in Hughes and Edward’s court to get him off the wage bill….after all Slot or whoever comes next, didn’t negotiate that contract.

It may not be up to him. Would Saudi want to bring this version of Mo and pay him what we are paying? Mo will want the full amount of that contract no matter what.

I'm pretty sure we'd have to pay a large part of his salary (50%?) if he went to Saudi (no chance of going anywhere in Europe) but hopefully the transfer fee and saving £200k would give us enough to buy a top class replacement. He would be adored there, the religion and lifestyle suit him, and he'd be able to replicate last season's figures. He could well be open to it.

Peekay doesn't like Olise and that's given me second thoughts. Semanyo is powerful and versatile and likely not too pricey. Not being easily dispossessed is as important to our game as being able to beat your man. I'm coming around as I don't think we need an out and out goalscorer (Isak and Ekitike will be that).

I thought the Saudi teams were good for big wages but low transfer fees.
We only to pay the difference if moves to a club paying less than what we are?
And I doubt he'd go there and be happy earning a fraction of Ronaldo's salary.

Course he won't. Total nonsense to say Salah will go there for 200K, if he did choose to go there he will go there for 500K a week minimum and they will pay handsomely. Ivan Toney went there for 400k base with 100k potential add ons, in what world would they pay one of the biggest names in world football 200k their side? Not sure of the contract details for us having to pay but Salah is not going to Saudi for less than someone like Toney regardless tax advantages. You would need Diaz's agent to accept that.
