Napoli - We know how it feels

The sad part is unlike us, they'll get picked apart this summer. Only the georgian has said he wants to stay i think

They will but they can still challenge for the title again next season.

Juve in trouble financially, Milan too. Inter are really bad atm and if they miss out on top 4 a lot of their players will leave.

I thought Napoli seemed to hold on to their stars for a while, more so than other clubs of their stature at least. I might be completely wrong though but could be combination of the owner being a ball ache to deal with and it actually being a nice place to live?

They have recruited well and play nice football (I wanted Spalletti when we Roy was on the chopping board 😀). Having said that, they have been really lucky with injuries too. I see almost the same starting XI week in week out - just 1 or 2 changes when they are any, using on the wings or central midfield.

Osimhen might leave for Bayern if Tuchel prefers him to other potential striking options (he would be at the top of my list for a #9, personally). But Napoli have an amazing knack of replacing star players with even better ones. Who knew they would not miss Koulibaly, Insigne and Mertens even one bit? Maybe a lesson for us there.

I was thinking during the Chelsea game that Koulibaly must be absolutely gutted. He stayed at Napoli for so long despite being very much in demand, won nothing and finally when he leaves Napoli start crushing it and the team he joins crumbles.

Sometimes a player is just cursed.

Yes,Lavezzi Hamsik Insigne Mertens Koulibaly were all there for a considerable amount of time…as has Zielinski. Cavani not as long but longer than players tend to hand around these days.

It also has the vibe of you don’t want to fuck around and feel the wrath of the locals. Odemwingie would’ve woken up staring at a horses head when the window slammed shut had he been a Napoli player.

Pretty much. Pretend to be happy until you're officially gone.

This, and Napoli will probably get 130-140 mill for Osimhen. Their Sporting director has done a great job and it will be interesting to see who they bring in.
Zielinski, Kim and Lobotka could also be picked up.

Absolutely a lesson there. Be strong when you need to be and be ruthless when you have to.

Napoli have brought well but before this season, how many trophies have they actually won in the last 30yrs?
3 cups and 3 relegations, would our demanding fans put up with that? Doubt it.
