Christ our club are dickheads when it comes to tickets.
apparently my seven yeah old now needs photo ID and a smartphone to get in. what the actual fuck are they playing at?
anyone else know what we’re supposed to do?

Theve've been telling us this for months? Where have you been? If you've got a membership you should know this. Have you got official tickets?
You can have your kid's ticket on your phone
 
If you've got your kids ticket on your phone you have to pass the phone back through the turnstile which is why the pre season games were delayed. The system is totally fucked. My mate's kid got in, didn't know what to do, so he had to go the ticket office with his other son and ended up queuing for 90 mins and missing most of the match because this happened to thousands of people. I appreciate the anti tout thing but I have got tickets for hundreds of people in the past, many of them on this site, and I've never charged a penny more than I've bought them for. This is bullshit. I'm not going back. I fucking hate these fsg cunts.

Nothing fsg can do about it. It's being rolled out at all premier league grounds. Ive sold tickets in the past, always face value or even under sometimes. But I can understand why the club wants to know who is in the ground. I have had occasions when I've sold a ticket to a mate who has then sold it on to someone I don't know. Could have been a right dickhead for all I know, getting chucked out and arrested and getting me banned. Fuck that now!

You don't need to pass the phone back to anyone. You swipe your phone and they walk in then you scan the phone again to let yourself in. It's explained on the video. No need to pass phones back and all that malarky
 
Yeah that's why the games kicked off late.

I've got older mates who've never had anything other than a Nokia. There may be problems on Saturday.
 
I heard on an interview with Momo's favoruite podcast that it is 100% NFC and no print at home this weekend ... is that right?
 
From what I understand, this isn't just about touting, it's about dealing with potential incidents at games - clubs need to be making a decent effort to get an idea of who is actually sitting where in the stadium so if anything happens they can identify people involved (whether that's potential victims if there's an incident or arseholes abusing players or other fans). This was also why they were prepared to do an amnesty on season tickets a few years back - it's not just about money, although obviously there is that angle to it as well.

It makes it harder to tout tickets for homes. Until it's brought in at aways tickets are still being passed on.
Can't see how the club is making much money out of the new system
 
I was at the Bilbao game the other week and this system was a disaster. I was in hospitality so didn't have to go through the scanners but my brother and his kid were queuing outside for over an hour (they'd got there really early too as the lad likes to watch the warm-ups). The word was that one of the problems they were having was that the phone scanners weren't large enough to accommodate some of the larger smartphones on the market, which is schoolboy stuff if true.

You don't have to Put the phones into the scanners. The scanners are for reading the barcode if you use that. You just download the ticket and hold your phone up to the scanner.

However, I went to the palace game and it wouldn't work. Had 3 stewards trying different ways to get it to scan. Cant wait til Saturday!
