So, I am going to need a bit of assistance here from some of you lot that follows the Championship more closely than I do, but this lad has caught my eye a few times now - not only because he's massive but because he's looked more than decent the around 4 times I've seen him (twice against Man City) - and very much like a type of midfielder we truly lack in the current squad.
At first glance he's build like a Pogba/Vieira type of player and his flair and nous both defensively and when going forward, combined with his 'reach' (fast, long legs, tall) and thunderous shot reminded me somehow of the first glimpses I saw of Pogba at Juve. Those are some heavy shoes to fill and it's probably not a legit comparison either, but that has at least made me aware of him - also because of his young age (especially when considering his central position).
I wasn't quite aware of him however when Huddersfield picked him up in Jutland (Esbjerg) at the tender age of 16 and developed him from there - and together they are now on course to the Premiership.
The 20-year-old looks to me at least to be very composed on the ball, a good range of passing, great awareness and positioning, got pace to burn, wins 9 out of 10 headers (from what I've seen), strong in tackle AND a goal threat. Doesn't seem to have any real weaknesses.
Danny Murphy gave him the MOTM award after their 5-1 loss last night to City (despite the fact he only played 60 minutes) and Alan Shearer almost creamed himself when talking about him. I am not sure how they fare as pundits these two lads, do they talk mostly sense or bollocks?
Tottenham has been linked on several occasions already as their scouts have frequently followed his progress from the sidelines it is being reported. (Which makes sense as I guess they've been more than content with their lower league dealings over the past few years and are just looking to add to that).
So my question is, has anyone on here seen more of him than me and what is your opinion so far?
