So, I am going to need a bit of assistance here from some of you lot that follows the Championship more closely than I do, but this lad has caught my eye a few times now - not only because he's massive but because he's looked more than decent the around 4 times I've seen him (twice against Man City) - and very much like a type of midfielder we truly lack in the current squad.

At first glance he's build like a Pogba/Vieira type of player and his flair and nous both defensively and when going forward, combined with his 'reach' (fast, long legs, tall) and thunderous shot reminded me somehow of the first glimpses I saw of Pogba at Juve. Those are some heavy shoes to fill and it's probably not a legit comparison either, but that has at least made me aware of him - also because of his young age (especially when considering his central position).

I wasn't quite aware of him however when Huddersfield picked him up in Jutland (Esbjerg) at the tender age of 16 and developed him from there - and together they are now on course to the Premiership.

The 20-year-old looks to me at least to be very composed on the ball, a good range of passing, great awareness and positioning, got pace to burn, wins 9 out of 10 headers (from what I've seen), strong in tackle AND a goal threat. Doesn't seem to have any real weaknesses.

Danny Murphy gave him the MOTM award after their 5-1 loss last night to City (despite the fact he only played 60 minutes) and Alan Shearer almost creamed himself when talking about him. I am not sure how they fare as pundits these two lads, do they talk mostly sense or bollocks?

Tottenham has been linked on several occasions already as their scouts have frequently followed his progress from the sidelines it is being reported. (Which makes sense as I guess they've been more than content with their lower league dealings over the past few years and are just looking to add to that).

So my question is, has anyone on here seen more of him than me and what is your opinion so far?

Scored two screamers thus far this Season, really dig this one:

Big, brown and with an awesome afro.

Evidently so.

PS Geography is not your cup of tea I take it?

After watching Zatan and Henke being the Swedish legends worth mentioning, it might be that some people are not aware that Denmark is the real branch of Goebbels disciples?? ;-)

What are you talking about, we got the Philip Billing!??!

No offense to those you mention but I think it's fair to say he's already shown more in his 19 games for Huddersfield than those two has in their entire careers - combined.

Some of the bias on here is just mind-boggling really...

Haha. You were the one hinting towards big, black and afro coming from Denmark was something related to lack of geographical knowledge!!

Well, that wasn't my attention at all, so EXCUSE ME!

*The geo reference was down to the fact Ross asked about his nationality though I made it perfectly clear (for some) that he was indeed Danish with him being brought in from somewhere in Jutland. And even from a city with a ferry route to England (Esbjerg - Harwich).

The lack of knowledge of ferry routes on here is alarming.

Please for the love of God Jurgen!!!!

Yeah, I am starved.

The fact that Klopp has so blatantly made everyone aware that he thinks Danish footballers are all better than Messi makes it only the more relevant to inform y'all about the most promising ones out there - and here's one from your backyard (at least if you live in England). You are welcome, of course.

I'd appreciate if some of the more Championship-enlightened posters on here wanted to share some info on him if possible. And maybe also Zohore's progress at Cardiff because BY THOR he's been banging them in of late has Drogba's cousin.

The only ferry I'm familiar with is the one that goes to Birkenhead and that's enough to avoid it.
Without going to extremes I think most ferries are of a pretty avoidable nature really.

So unless you really have to cross a sea and don't have like a boat yourself. Or a plane. Or a bridge. I wouldn't mind avoiding them either, especially the one to Birkenhead.

He's not generally part of Huddersfield's first team so I'd like to see him starting regularly before he's linked to us. Working under David Wagner he would, presumably, be very familiar with what a Klopp-style team would play like. The other thing is what that would mean for Grujic if we bought him.. Injury has meant he's become a forgotten man but if he can get fit for next season then he seems a similar player to Billing, and a touch younger.

Is all of Jutland in Denmark ?
Every bit, all the way down to the border to Germany.

It was larger once but Ze Germans didn't like that too much so they kicked our asses back in 1800-something and claimed land back so what we call Jutland scrumped somewhat. I reckon.

History-lessons always made me fall asleep.

Never seen him play but sounds promising. If he's a talent with a great future I'd imagine Wagner and Klopp have spoken about him, and other talented players in that team or maybe even league for that matter etc.

Billing started today for Huddersfield in their win today at Brentford. The first thing you notice about him is how tall he is, but, as they say, he has good feet for a big man. He started as one of the 2 in Huddersfield's 4-2-3-1 formation. he looked really composed on the ball, recycling possession easily, though one careless giveaway led to a goalbound shot from Brentford. There was one absolutely terrific pass in the first half, struck with unerring accuracy from left to right, which put me in mind of Jan Molby. In the second half there was a short subtle pass which put his teammate away in the box, so he certainly looks to have a good range of passes. He may need to bulk up a little bit if he is to succeed at a higher level. I'll certainly be interested to see how he does if Huddersfield do get promotion.
