EPL Week 11 - Other games Nov 8-9th

Someone asked me earlier today how I thought this one would go and I thought Sunderland could get a point as they were at home (went for a 1-1 scoreline). Shoulda had a cheeky fiver on it.

Great result. If we win tomorrow we could be a couple of points clear in second and four points off top, which was inconceivable very recently. A big IF though.
Well 5 pts but yeah. A win could be transformative. Put doubt back into Arsenal and be a massive boost to our confidence with a run of very winnable games coming up.

Yeah of course it would be a good result. A point away at one of the toughest teams / grounds in the country. Against an in-form team. Arsenal don't play there until April.
If we weren't 8 pts behind then it would be a good result but at this stage we need to start reeling in that deficit..

And we've lost 4 of our 10 games already...
Whilst I agree 4 is too many, and it doesn't give us much leeway, it's not insurmountable. United lost 6 times on the way to the title in 2000 and Blackburn 12 times in 1994-5.

That said if this is our 'transitional season' and we start winning more PL and CL titl3s in the following 6-7 seasons, I'll take it.

Wasn't 2000 one of the years they absolutely walked the title? Surely a lot of those losses were in dead rubbers?
