Fair enough. I just find it strange that it's gone this way after we had Jones by all accounts hence i'm wondering if we could have done more to ensure he signed for us. Really disappointed, but what can you do.

Fergie obviously shit a brick when he heard we were in for him. By all accounts it was only ourselves and Arsenal that were the main contenders for his signature up until today. The bitter old bastard wins the day again.

That couldnt be helped.

Slur offered a bit more money I think, but thelure of the Scum was too strong.

Rafa did the wisest thing which was to get the next best option at 5.8 million and he was also a good player; and if he hadnt been made of toffee both of them would be regarded as top quality defenders. Instead we gaze wistfully at Vidic and wonder what could have been.

just goes to show again what a tough job it was for houllier, rafa and now kenny trying to overhaul them. you're competing against a better team, with more money, and who always seem to go for our targets.

there's so much more to it than just a simple comparison of spending. spending well is so much easier when you get your first pick every fucking time.

Alerted Ginsoak to the fact that a deal had been agreed with us, and what fee it would take to gazump it. All it would have taken was a careless word from somebody while we were talking to the Mackems about Henderson.

well with this happening so quickly it sounds to me like both clubs hit a buy out or sale price and he chose United over us. Pity , think he would have got more playing time with us but obviously he sees it differently . fuck him .

The way I see it I'm gutted we've missed out on Jones but the priority for the cunts is midfield and not defence. We've tied up Henderson who was one of their top targets and they're yet to sign anyone to replace scholes or Hargreaves. They've got Gibson and Anderson who are wank and Giggs ain't all that. Whilst we do need a defender I'd rather we get someone who wants to play for us. So fuck you Phil Jones bring on Dann. Dann Dann Dann, he can't hear me!

i think you're probably reading too much into this. all it'd take is for ferguson to ask blackburn to keep him informed of developments, and i think that's a fairly common arrangement isn't it? it's not like blackburn have any obligation to us.
 
Anyway if he's gone to teh Scum that means there's one less rival for other players who're hopefully just as capable.
