PL Opposition Tidbits

City pull it back to make it 1-1 with 72% possession, 17 shots in the first half and 10 on target. They are easily going to score minimum 3 in the second half.

Didn't realise City have the early kick off on Saturday against the blue shite. Thats them top when we go into the Burnley game.

that too at home.
If we are able to win both our games before their game with Chelsea.....Who knows, Chelsea on counter attack can punish them with a nice draw, as City's defence this season hasnt been great.

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has faced plenty of criticism for his recent displays.

The pressure appeared to get to Caicedo during the team's 4-2 loss to Wolves in the Premier League.

When he was subbed off in the second half, with Chelsea losing at that stage, Caicedo was furious.

He was seen on television footage smashing up a chair on the bench after coming off.

The Ecuadorian also got a yellow card for dissent, which may have been the reason he was subbed off.

The club's record signing, the most expensive British player of all time, will have to find his best form if he is to avoid fading away in the coming years.

French club Le Havre are furious with a Premier League side about failing to complete a loan move.

The club's director Mathieu Bodmer has slammed Chelsea for blocking Malang Sarr's deadline day switch.

The defender was unable to make the move to Ligue 1, where he would get regular game time.

Per Paris Normandie, he said: "What they did to him was disgraceful. They are the directors of the club with six English league titles, now owned by the American Todd Boehly.

"With just a few details still to be worked out, they did a U-turn. They gave the youngster the go-ahead to travel, and a financial agreement had been reached for the eighteen months of his remaining contract at Chelsea.

"However, on several occasions, they went back on their agreement, and then gave it again. And once the player had agreed to make a big effort, to come to us on a tiny salary, just to play football, they blocked him.

"Everything was OK, the contract had even been submitted to the League (LFP), but we never received Chelsea's cancellation. In the end, they just told him he wouldn't be leaving and they didn't even answer the phone any more."

Liverpool have lost 81 times under Klopp. 50% of those losses were when Anthony Taylor was the ref.

Impressive turnaround from West Ham, especially after losing Rice. That said, I seem to recall that their underlying stats last year were quite good and suggested bad luck more than anything.

This is an LFC thing, which I thought was worth sharing but not worth its own thread.
I have it on good authority that there is a woman who works for the club whose name is Ann Ball.
If you don't get why this is funny, raise your right hand in the air and say her name loudly and quickly.
True story.

There was some talk that his success in Brighton was actually down to the scouting departement, and his involvement at Newcastle has been a bit mixed to say the least.
Tonali, Targett and Barnes have all been a bit meh. The Tonali transfer in particular is a big stain on his record.

In general, meh.

Really? Wasn't Tonali one of their best players before the ban? And it's not like he could have been expected to know about it in advance.

Tonali was meh prior to his ban and its not a good look when a player has those character traits imho

Reading more about Ashworth and Brighton and it seems he had minimal responsibilty in terms of recruitment. Bloom and Star Lizard deserves the credit.

Weird seeing Utd fans and Sky portrait him as some sort of transfer God.
He seems like a top notch administrator though, but in terms of recruitment the jury is still out.
They’ll have to pay a hefty fee to get him as well.
