This has been dragging over for what seems like at least a year now. The real scandal is that the player (let's abbreviate "the player" to TP) hasn't been charged or that the DPP hasn't said no charges will be brought. It shouldn't take that long, and if they were to charge TP then I'm sure his club would put him on leave.

The issue is that March 1 is the deadline under UEFA to address multiclub ownership issues by putting shares into a blind trust .

Palace had absolutely no conception of winning the FA Cup or otherwise qualifying for Europe at that point.

They should be given every opportunity now to address the shares and become compliant.

I don’t really understand how this works, but how does placing shares in a blind trust satisfy UEFA multi club rules if they state “No individual or legal entity may have control or influence over more than one club participating in a Uefa club competition”?

It feels like UEFA are going to get into an even bigger mess than FFP or state ownership has caused - simply by allowing the thing to happen in the first place.

What difference does a blind trust make - as if that crazy fucker at Forest is going to let a blind trust limit the shit he gets up to there.

In theory at least, as long as the trust exists he'd have no right to interfere in or benefit from what the trustees did with the assets. Like you, though, I suspect there'd be 101 ways in which this could be circumvented if those involved really wanted to do that.
