Part of me wants to see Slot embrace the diamond quicker but we don’t have the time to change and Slot doesn’t have the balls to drop Mo so i guess we’ll see it during AFCON.

Front 6 should be familiar enough to show some fluidity here, and Isak can be fresh for Chelsea.

Wirtz & Kerkez should keep playing to find form.
 
I’m debating between two sides to put out. Our wingers/wide forwards have hampered our attacking flow. Either:

I wouldn’t risk Alisson as we know he picks up random injuries and Marma needs games. Konate needs dropping after that shit show and the same for Salah. Gakpo is struggling and also needs to buck up his ideas.
 
I agree that Ibu needs to be shown that shit = dropped.

Kerkez needs the game time IMO and I’d prep to have Robbo vs Chelsea.

Agreed.

We don't have the squad to fight on all fronts (sorry Quad Squad - we are at least a CB and CM short and it is showing). We need to prioritise the league (unless of course, Slot wants the CL over the PL) game and fit this one around that. It will be a hostile atmosphere but this opponent is shite.
 
I’d leave Isak in Liverpool to work on fitness and sharpness.

Our lack of CB rotational possibilities is depressing.

Use this as a dry run for the Chelsea side, GK aside. Konate needs to get his head sorted, Kerkez needs more time to calm down, Macca isn't fully fit, Wirtz has to play because we need Szobo in midfield, Chiesa should be given an opportunity in his best position bearing in mind how well he's done and how average Gakpo has been. Give Salah a chance to play himself into form.

He was training with the team, so he has to be ill or picked up an injury or something. There's absolutely no reason to leave him out again.
 
It is, but I wonder if he's just being careful with him too. We've seen the way he has broken down before. It is weird though. Slot is definitely making some weird decisions with the side this season. The team is plagued by players who aren't working hard and are lightweight as fuck and lack intensity and sharpness, the opposite of everything that Chiesa has shown so far this season.

That's fucking awful if it's purely a selection decision. Players have to be rewarded for showing effort and good form, and vice versa.

Yep. It's usually where I begin to lose respect for managers, when they start being deliberately unfair on performing players. He showed it a bit last season too, there are plenty of players in that squad who on current form shouldn't be guaranteed shit.
